Taylor Swift hosted fans for a secret Lover listening session in Nashville yesterday, and while the singer asked fans not to leak album details from the event, they did say a little about what Swift spoke about between songs. According to one fan's Tumblr, Swift candidly shared what she thinks of the state of U.S. politics under President Donald Trump's administration. "I was like the world is on fire, and she's like yeah, we're living in a hellscape," the fan, Kristin wrote on Tumblr. Kristin told another fan that she spoke to Swift about "overall stuff and the political environment of the U.S. and also just the world in general and like yeah, we were every much on the same page." Swift did not go all out and outright bash Trump, according to Kristin, but Swift made it clear that she was not a fan of the way things are today. http://instagram.com/p/ByJzCNZDMgG Swift has only recently become publicly political. Last week, she encouraged her fans to watch the Democratic Primary Debates:

Kid Rock came out of nowhere on Friday morning to attack Taylor Swift for her political beliefs and accuse her of using sex to get famous. It's unclear what sparked Rock's Twitter attack (he hardly ever tweets) but he did not mince words when it comes to his feelings about Swift. "Taylor Swift wants to be a democrat because she wants to be in movies….period," he wrote. And it looks like she will suck the door knob off Hollyweird to get there. Oldest move in the book. Good luck girl." He signed the tweet to make sure you know it definitely came from him. In her recent interview with Vogue, Swift talked about why she did not come out and endorse a candidate in the 2016 presidential election. "Unfortunately in the 2016 election you had a political opponent who was weaponizing the idea of the celebrity endorsement," she said. "He was going around saying, 'I’m a man of the people. I’m for you. I care about you.' I just knew I wasn’t going to help. Also, you know, the summer before that election, all people were saying was, 'She’s calculated. She’s manipulative. She’s not what she seems. She’s a snake. She’s a liar.' These are the same exact insults people were hurling at Hillary. Would I be an endorsement or would I be a liability? 'Look, snakes of a feather flock together. Look, the two lying women. The two nasty women.' Literally millions of people were telling me to disappear. So I disappeared. In many senses."

Sheryl Crow is calling out her old friend, Kid Rock in defense of Taylor Swift.
57-year-old Crow had a simple response to Rock's sexist tweet about Taylor Swift that went viral on Friday by responding to the rocker with, "Spread love. Not hate. End of subject."
The response from Crow comes after 48-year-old Kid tweeted,
"Taylor Swift wants to be a democrat because she wants to be in movies….period. And it looks like she will suck the door knob off Hollyweird to get there. Oldest move in the book. Good luck girl."
Sheryl and Kid Rock worked together on their massive hit "Picture," in 2002 which remains one of the biggest hits of Rock's career.

Kacey Musgraves is setting the record straight after an alleged screenshot of her liking Kid Rock's controversial tweet about Taylor Swift and her politics surfaced online.
On Saturday (Aug. 10), the "Rainbow" singer took to Twitter to clarify her feelings on the matter, tweeting at first that her account had been hacked and then posting a message claiming that the screenshot of her liking the tweet -- in which Kid Rock wrote "Taylor Swift wants to be a democrat because she wants to be in movies...period. Looks like she will suck the door knob off Hollyweird to get there" -- was photoshopped.
"Last week I was dragged because of how liberal I am and anyone that knows me knows how outspoken I am about equality & respect," she wrote in a second post, which Swift liked on Twitter. "I've connected with Taylor - she knows this is NOT how I feel and we are cool. That was a manipulated image, (I don't even follow Kid Rock), and I would NEVERRR support any message promoting such disgusting misogyny."

Taylor Swift may be a "Lover," but she says she's going to be a fighter in the upcoming elections.
In an interview with The Guardian on Saturday, the singer got candid about her thoughts on all things politics, including her stance on abortions and the 2020 presidential race.
“I mean, obviously, I’m pro-choice, and I just can’t believe this is happening," she told the British newspaper. "I can’t believe we’re here. It’s really shocking and awful. And I just wanna do everything I can for 2020. I wanna figure out exactly how I can help, what are the most effective ways to help. ’Cause this is just… This is not it.”
And although she doesn't use his name, Swift also appears to talk about President Donald Trump directly.
“The thing I can’t get over right now is gaslighting the American public into being like, 'If you hate the president, you hate America.’ We’re a democracy – at least, we’re supposed to be – where you’re allowed to disagree, dissent, debate," she said. “I really think that he thinks this is an autocracy.”
In 2018, Swift broke her political silence to voice her support for Phil Bredesen, Tennessee's Democratic candidate for Senate, and denounced his Republican opponent, Marsha Blackburn. Blackburn would go on to defeat Bredesen.
Earlier this month, Swift granted Vogue a rare interview where the 29-year-old talked about her decision to speak out on LGBTQ rights, sexism in entertainment and her $113,000 donation to the Tennessee Equality Project.
