Teenage pop singer Lorde says she's 'overwhelmed' after winning International female solo artist at the Brit Awards 2014. Stunned! The awe-struck 17-year-old couldn't believe she'd won a Brit Two-time Grammy winner Lorde proved she's still reigning supreme as she scooped the award for Best International Solo Female at the all-star Brit Awards in London on Wednesday night. The 17-year-old singer showed that while her name might be in lights, her feet are still firmly on the ground, declaring the award was : 'A priceless surprise.' The gorgeously gothic babe, who comes from New Zealand, took to the stage in a dramatic black sequinned number saying: 'I'm still so new to getting awards that my brain feels like it's exploding every time it happens, so forgive me.' The Royals singer beat competition from Janelle Monae, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Pink to take the top spot and gave a quick shout out to them: 'Thank you to the strong, intelligent, inspiring women in this category.'

Lorde has opened up about whether she would collaborate with Taylor Swift in the future, and says their different musical styles could easily complement each other. The 'Royals' star chatted exclusively to Max on her Capital show this week, and says the "cool" thing about '22' star Taylor is how adaptive her style of music is. "Yeah we are [different]," Lorde explained to Max. "But I think the cool thing about Taylor is she is pretty willing to go a lot of places with music. I think that last record ['Red'] in particular, everyone was like 'Woah', a lot of ground has been covered," she added. "And I think with an artist like her the sky is the limit. But I don't know."
