With many bands now pushing their tours back an entire year due to the coronavirus pandemic, Evanescence and Within Temptation have postponed their joint Worlds Collide run to September and October 2021. “We are so disappointed that we won’t be seeing you this fall, but we’re accepting the challenge 2020 is giving us and pouring our time and hearts into making a great album instead,” says Evanescence’s Amy Lee. “Friends, we miss you terribly and can’t wait to play these songs for you next year! Be safe, be well, we love you!” “We know this year will not be easy for you and we will do whatever it takes to get you through by continuing to write and release new songs,” adds Within Temptation singer Sharon den Adel. “Knowing that we won’t get to play for you this year is hard for everyone, but everyone’s health and wellbeing is our number one priority. Whatever happens, this tour will happen! We can’t wait to see you again in 2021. For now: stay safe.” The Worlds Collide Tour will now kick off in Zurich on September 8, 2021, and finish up at London’s huge O2 Arena on October 4. Evanescence will stick around for a couple of days afterwards, performing a headline gig in Madrid on October 7. It’s been a big couple of years for Dutch megaweights Within Temptation, but with their planned tour with Evanescence getting nudged back, we thought we’d help Sharon den Adel pass the time by fielding some of your questions. Who knew Shazza had such a problem with ducks?! “That’s sweet. Really, it’s a process. It’s been two years now [Sharon’s father passed away in 2018] since that period was going on. Of course, something doesn’t really end but the sharp edges get off. The music really helped me, and also being on tour again for Resist really helped – it was a very positive tour for me. So, it’s getting better, but it’s like, wounds heal, but they heal slowly. But there are more better days than bad days, that’s the good thing.” Do you see a time in the future where you’ll release a compilation album of rare/unreleased material from your back catalogue? @jaimcferran (Twitter) “Not really. Maybe b-sides; there were a few jams which were pretty good, actually, looking back on it. Maybe if we made a new arrangement on [the songs] or something we could try. But a lot of things that didn’t make it to b-sides were really bad, I think. Ha ha ha!” What’s the best way to address the issue of the number of bands with female musicians on festival bills each year? Ben Willmott (Facebook) “That’s a difficult question. My opinion about it is: of course I would like to see more women on the bills of festivals and on radio. I think the more visible women are, the more seeds will be planted. I think it’s even harder in a country like America to get on the radio or get any exposure when you’re a female because it’s more masculine; they just wanna hear men’s voices. In Europe I think it’s slightly different; we get more support just based on the music. But that’s just my feeling. Maybe I’m wrong.”

Evanescence and Within Temptation have pushed back their scheduled Worlds Collide tour to Spring 2022.
A joint statement from the band reads: “Due to the ongoing restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the uncertainty that local authorities will be able to provide a safe environment in which their European fans can thoroughly enjoy shows by September of this year, Evanescence and Within Temptation have unfortunately had to make the decision to push back their highly anticipated co-headline Worlds Collide Tour to Spring 2022.”

EVANESCENCE and HALESTORM are returning to the concert stage in the U.S. this fall. Produced by Live Nation, the tour will kick off Friday, November 5 in Portland, Oregon, and take the bands to arenas across the country before wrapping up in the Northeast right before the holidays.
A special BLABBERMOUTH.NET presale will begin on Wednesday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m. local time and end on Thursday, May 13 at 10:00 p.m. local time. When prompted, type in the presale code "EVSxHS21" to access tickets before the general public. General on-sale will be this Friday, May 14 at 10 a.m. local. (Check back here before the start of the presale on Wednesday for individual ticketing links for all the shows.)
The tour will bring together two of the top women in rock — Amy Lee and Lzzy Hale — for a truly badass experience night after night. Close friends as well as close collaborators, just last year, Lzzy performed back-up vocals on EVANESCENCE's "rollicking non-partisan protest song" (MTV) "Use My Voice", and Amy joined Lzzy on a new version of HALESTORM's "Break In". In addition to new music and the biggest hits from both women, the shows will highlight their personal bond and the music that's come of it.
Amy said: "Words can't express how excited we are to go back on tour with our friends and rock out again. We've been building this new music in isolation for over a year and dreaming of what it will be like to finally play it live, and to experience it together with our fans for the first time. We can't wait to see you there!"
Lzzy said of the upcoming tour: ""We have all been mourning the loss of live music, and patiently waiting, looking toward an uncertain future. Finally the future looks bright and I can't think of a better way to break the silence than with our dear friends in EVANESCENCE. I can only imagine how it will feel to step on stage again night after night, and reconnect with all of the fans whom I've missed so much. Get ready for intense emotions, loud performances, and a newly exhilarated energy unlike any tour we've experienced in the past. Looking forward to seeing you all!""
This Thursday, May 13, fans can get a sneak peek of EVANESCENCE playing live during their "Driven to Perform" Cooper Tire livestream concert, which features songs from their recently released album "The Bitter Truth" along with older favorites.
"The Bitter Truth" debuted in March as the #1 Current Rock and Alternative album in the U.S., and the band will bring audiences a high-octane rock energy to match the album, which the Los Angeles Times hailed as their "fiercest songs to date." Consequence Of Sound said of "The Bitter Truth", "Amy Lee and company triumphantly return … and it's certainly worth the wait," and the shows with HALESTORM this winter will further prove it.
Grammy-winning HALESTORM is currently in Rock Falcon Studios working diligently on its upcoming fifth album (and follow up to 2018's "Vicious") with producer Nick Raskulinecz. The band recently released their rendition of THE WHO's "Long Live Rock" in conjunction with the documentary of the same name. Hale just completed filming of the inaugural season of Hit Parader's new music competition show "No Cover", appearing as a celebrity judge alongside Alice Cooper, Bishop Briggs, Gavin Rossdale and Tosin Abasi. She also hosts "A Year In Music" for AXS TV; Season Four premiered last week. The vocalist also appeared on the theme song for the Netflix film "Thunder Force" along with Corey Taylor, Scott Ian and more. Recent HALESTORM press highlights include Forbes, Psychology Today, Refinery 29, Alternative Press, "Good Day New York", KTLA and more.
