#SelenaGomez stopped by to talk about #LoseYouToLoveMe & #LookAtHerNow, mental health, finding happiness & reboots! Selena Gomez recently dropped a break-up anthem that certainly seems like it’s inspired by her lengthy on-again, off-again romance with Justin Bieber! Selena Gomez, 27, wants Justin Bieber, 25, to hear her new music! “Yeah, I do [want him to listen],” she revealed in an interview on the Zach Sang Show on Oct. 25. “And here’s the whole point: being able to say something on your own, and being able to say something that actually is beautiful.” Selena recently dropped the dramatic ballad to “Lose You To Love Me” — which, unmistakably, makes reference to her lengthy on-again, off-again romance with Justin. In the song, she states “you replaced us in two months,” which fits with the timeline: Justin and Selena last broke things off in Mar. 2018, and he was already back with Hailey Baldwin, 22, in June. “For me, my intentions are never evil. They just aren’t,” Selena continued. “I don’t even know how to do that. My intentions can be a bit snappy but I always want to come from a place that’s genuine, and when I feel like some things haven’t been said, then, I get to turn things into art.” Selena followed up the dramatic ballad with “Look At Her Now” — an empowering anthem that also makes reference to the Justin romance. In the lyrics, she says the relationship was “shiny until it wasn’t” but that she “knows she’ll find love again.” Overall, the theme of the song is that she “dodged a bullet,” re: being the one to marry Justin.

While everyone has been busy speculating about whether or not Sel's two new singles are about Justin Bieber (and they really, really seem like they are!), Selena has been out here doing press for her new music and opening up about her love life without naming names. In her most recent interview on the Zach Sang Show, Selena went there and talked about how her first love (*cough* Justin *cough*) was "a little toxic." She said:
You're in a phase of life where you experience love for the first time and I think that can just be just a little toxic. You have this codependency that you think is love and then you have this addiction to the passion and the frustration with each other that you think, 'Oh, that's love,' or fighting or doing all this stuff, 'Oh that's love,' and I believed that for a long time.
Selena Wants Justin to Listen to Her New Songs She also shared that she's been "super, super single for two years," and now knows what she wants from her next relationship. She said, "I want it to be real and I don't want it to be codependent or messy or lack of communication. I think you know when you get older, you find people that are actually right for you, that are actually on the same wavelength." And reading between the lines that seems to suggest that maybe some of her past relationships had those problems, but that's just a theory!

According to an Us Weekly source, “Taylor Swift is a huge supporter of Selena and the shade she threw at Justin has made her proud,” meaning that Taylor likely has not gotten over her drama with Justin and/or Scooter Braun. “The song was inspired by Selena’s breakup from Justin,” a separate source told Us after “Lose You to Love Me” dropped last week. “It’s actually about finally being able to love yourself and moving on from a toxic relationship.” After the song came out, Taylor publicly congratulated Selena. “This song is a perfect expression of healing and my absolute favorite song she’s put out yet,” Taylor wrote on her Instagram Story. “A triumph. I love you so much @selenagomez.” It sounds like Tay caught wind of Selena’s recent interview with Ryan Seacrest. During Selena’s appearance on Ryan’s radio show, she hinted that she experienced heartbreak at the hands of Justin more than a few times because he’d often run to other girls as soon as their relationship got rocky.
