The White House released the First Lady's Halloween plans on social media last week and many Twitter users were quick to take aim at the First Lady and wife of Donald Trump. Melania's party will take place on October 28 and promises to create a Halloween atmosphere for their guests, including an enchanted forest and a pumpkin trail. Invitations were extended to military families and local schoolchildren with their parents. News of Melania’s third halloween party was attacked online by many of the First Lady's critics. Journalist Tim Rogers wrote on Twitter: “Every day is Halloween at the White House.” Another Twitter user replied: “It’s a creepy place alright.” On Twitter user wrote: “All the clowns will be there!”

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump handed out candy to hundreds of military families and local schoolchildren as the White House got a head start on Halloween. The children dressed up as astronauts, military officers, pirates and dinosaurs as they greeted the president and first lady one-by-one Monday. The Air Force Strolling Strings played “Thriller” from Michael Jackson, “The Addams Family” theme song and other spooky tunes to set the mood. A Halloween display of Black Forest trees wrapped around the columns of the South Portico, while pumpkins lined the staircases. Several agencies were also on hand to help in the fun, with the Secret Service showing off the presidential limo known as “The Beast” and NASA displaying the suit that astronauts wear for spacewalks.

US President Donald Trump and first lady Melania have hosted the annual trick-or-treat event at the White House. For the third year in a row, Mr Trump, and his wife handed out sweets to hundreds of people, including military families and local schoolchildren, to get in to the spirit of Halloween. The President and his wife opted to dress in their usual formal wear on Monday night, as they hosted the youngsters visiting them in their colourful fancy dress. The commander-in-chief welcomed youngsters dressed as pirates, dinosaurs, cartoon characters and astronauts, and greeted them all one-by-one to hand out goodies.

President Trump and first lady Melania Trump handed out pieces of candy to children at the White House's Halloween festivities on Monday, and video of them placing candy bars on the head of one child dressed as a minion is going viral online.
In the brief moment, the first couple can be seen passing out candy to a line of young trick-or-treaters outside the White House, as is custom for the annual Halloween celebration involving the first family.
At one point, a child dressed as a minion, a creature from the “Despicable Me” film franchise, approaches the Trumps.
