A kiss from Harry Styles would leave most teenagers speechless… but for one fan it was the opposite. Laura Yeates had not spoken for six months after losing her voice to a double whammy of laryngitis and pharyngitis. But the 15-year-old found her voice after her idol blew her a kiss. She had been taken to see One Direction at Wembley Stadium by her mother Carly, after four trips to hospital and sessions with speech therapists failed to have an impact. Laura said: ‘On the day of the concert I was slightly upset because I would not be able to enjoy the atmosphere as much as the rest of the crowd. But we got so close to the stage and as Harry came over, he chucked water over us. I tried to scream, just to make him notice me, and when he blew a kiss in my direction, a scream came out.’ ‘I said to my mum, “Mum listen”, and as I tried to carry on screaming, my voice was coming back more and more.’ Mrs Yeates said: ‘I was gobsmacked, I cried. Then she called her father and he cried.’ Now she is as keen on 1D as her daughter. She said: I wasn’t a big fan but I am now. ‘She went in not talking and she came out talking, and she hasn’t stopped.’ Laura, from Dagenham, east London, added: ‘No psychiatrist, no speech and language, no doctor or nurse could bring my voice back, but One Direction could.’

One Direction will be hitting the big screen once again later this year when their brand new concert movie, filmed during their 'Where We Are' stadium tour, hits cinemas, and while that's pretty awesome, we're actually more excited about the exclusive interview which will feature in the film. So what controversy do they need to address?
The tour movie will feature footage from their recent concert at the San Siro stadium in Milan but will also include a 15 minute interview with boys which has never been released, as well as a candid look behind the scenes.
While the 'Where We Are' tour itself has been relatively scandal free, there's been plenty going on elsewhere in the boys' lives and we'd like the interview to get down to the nitty gritty and answer all the burning questions we've been desperate to ask the heartthrobs over the last few months.
It's one of the longest-running 1D rumours but speculation mounted recently when it emerged that Harry Styles had been working on his own material away from the group. He has shut down the rumours since, but we'd like to hear them as a group reassure us that they'll be going nowhere in the foreseeable future...
The 'Where We Are' concert movie will be hitting cinemas for just one weekend on October 11 and 12, meaning fans will have to rush to snap up the tickets when they go on sale on July 28 as they're bound to sell like hot cakes!

Who is Harry Styles dating? Is it New York model Paige Reifler or is it Neon Jungle beauty Asamai Zdrenka? Well now, we can update you… It’s the question it feels like the entire female population of the world wants to know and now, in a special ‘Harry Styles girlfriend update’ we bring you the facts: The 18-year-old singer has definitely met Harry a few times thanks to their music paths crossing but that definitely doesn’t mean they’re now smitten. In facts, she’s totally bored of all of the rumours flying round (yeah, right, we’d SO hate that too…). This is what she has to say on the matter (according to EntertainmentWise): ‘I’ve met him twice being in Neon Jungle and I think people just latched onto that because it’s Harry Styles but it’s getting a bit boring like, “Really?” I’ve read so many things that apparently I’ve said or that have come out and I’m like, this is so silly! He’s a cool dude but nothing’s going on. We’re not even friends. Of course I would, yeah, it’s Harry Styles and I’m a big Directioner. Even just after talking to him he seems like a cool person, so yeah I would. But no plans for that in the future because I can’t be bothered with boys right now. Boys are annoying!’ They apparently rekindled their love after at a Warner party earlier this month. She said at the time (according to the Daily Mirror): ‘I went to the Warner party at Shoreditch House with a friend and saw him there. The next morning I woke up and I was in all of the newspapers and magazines. I wasn’t expecting that, it’s not like that in New York. Yes, I am seeing him.’

One Direction singer Zayn Malik weighed in on the Israeli-Palestinian crisis by declaring his support for one side over the other with the tweet "#FreePalestine." The British-Pakistani boy bander, 21, who is also Muslim, received both praise and backlash from fans on opposite sides of the Gaza conflict after posting the tweet Sunday night. Some angry social media users even went as far as suggesting Malik kill himself, while others have accused him of being anti-Semitic. Many One Direction fans took to Twitter-warring with each other. Malik's message received over 150,000 retweets, and has been "favorited" just as many times. While he is the first One Direction member to voice an opinion on the polarizing issue, Malik isn't the first high profile celebrity to comment. Selena Gomez caused a firestorm after posting an Instagram message July 18 which read, "It's about humanity. Pray for Gaza." "Please pray for those families and babies today," she captioned the photo. "Please always remember what's important in life. It's not any of this. We are here to help, inspire and love. Be that change. #wearethenextgeneration.”

Teenage girls are excitable creatures at the best of times. Even more so when cute boys are in the room. And when those cute boys also happen to be able to sing, are a bit cheeky and have British, Irish and Australian accents, well then you can expect the female response to be off the charts. Especially when there’s 48,000 of them in one place. One Direction, who also have their own initials 1D, are made up of lone Irishman Niall Horan, and Brits Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson with a backing four-piece band. They’ve sold 45 million albums since forming in 2010 and their enormous stage on Friday night with flashy video screens, and accompanying catwalk (whose tail end revealed an elevating stage during the song One Thing) was indicative of those impressive sales. The charming thing about One Direction is that they talk off the cuff (hopefully), don’t perform any choreographed dance moves, and just seem to wander around their gigantic stage as the mood strikes them, singing and making occasional jokes. At one point they even broke into Pharrell’s Get Lucky while introducing their musicians. Song highlights included such ballads as Right Now, Little Things, Moments, and Story of My Life, and uptempo pop songs Alive, One Thing, What Makes You Beautiful and the set ending Best Song Ever. Still, the group haven’t arrived in Toronto without controversy. Earlier this week, Malik - who was brought up a Muslim in Yorkshire - was bombarded with death threats by outraged Israelis after posting a #FreePalestine message on Twitter. “It’s amazing to be here tonight in Toronto performing,” said Malik as the group members took turns addressing the crowd. Still to come Oct. 11-12, is the Milan-shot One Direction: Where We Are – The Concert Film, that will run in theatres for one weekend. The foursome were clearly warmed up, fresh off a last-minute accoustic performance in the MuchMusic parking lot earlier in the day and will return to headline their own show at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on Aug. 25 as part of their just announced Rock Out With Your Socks Out tour that will hit four Canadian cities this summer. One Direction set list Midnight Memories Little Black Dress Kiss You Why Don’t We Go There? Rock Me Don’t Forget Where You Belong Live While We’re Young C’mon, C’mon Right Now Through the Dark Happily Little Things Moments Strong Better Than Words Alive One Thing Diana What Makes You Beautiful Encore: You & I Story of My Life Little White Lies Best Song Ever 5SOS Set List Eighteen Heartbreak Girl Don’t Stop Teenage Dream (Katy Perry cover) Disconnected Amnesia Beside You What I Like About You (The Romantics cover) Good Girls She Looks So Perfect
