Liam Payne has completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and he's only gone and done it surrounded by teenage fans. The One Direction star is no stranger to being followed by his female fans and it appears he decided to put them to good use when taking part in the charity stunt. Following the nomination from X Factor judge Cheryl Cole, the former talent show contestant became the latest a-lister to brave the freezing water for the good cause. In his video, which was uploaded onto Instagram for his 2.4 million followers to lay their eyes on, the boy band member looked his casual self wearing a black cap, white t-shirt and black shorts. But the 20-year-old didn't stay relaxed for long as he was circled by a gang of girls ready to soak the 1D star to his core. Of course there was a lot of screaming going on (mostly from the 11 excited teens) but even Liam let out a high-pitched squeal as the chilly liquid hit his skin. And we're guessing that the heartthrob might be in the doghouse for a bit after nominating his girlfriend Sophia Smith before getting stuck into the challenege.

This groom stole the show from his beautiful bride by getting groovy to One Direction. There have been grooms and their mothers busting a groove. There have been bridal parties dancing down the aisle. And there have been first dances to end all first dances. And this one ranks highly among the cringiest of them. During his wedding in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, newlywed Seth Fickett decided to show his new wife Natalie exactly what he thought about her with the help of 1D’s What Makes You Beautiful and his willing groomsmen. The men singled Natalie out to sit and watch from the dance floor (slightly awks) as they broke out into the routine around her. According to the Huffington Post, Fickett even dedicated his bachelor party to learning the moves. Extra brownie points earned right there. He either won her heart or a night on the sofa after that awkward performance, which included back flips and cartwheels. On his YouTube page he wrote: ‘I wanted to give Natalie, my beautiful bride, an awesome gift at the wedding reception. So I asked my brother/best man, Asher, to secretly help me choreograph a dance for the groomsmen to practice at the bachelor party. Boom. She never saw it coming.’

One Direction is the first touring artist in 2014 to break the $200 million ticket sales barrier based on revenue reported this week from the European and North American legs of its Where We Are world tour. The London-based band heads up the weekly slate of Hot Tours with $130 million in revenue from a 10-week span during the tour’s summer trek that includes stadium performances in 11 European markets and nine in the U.S. and Canada. After adding the $130 million from this tally to the sales that have already been reported this year, ticket sales from the tour now total $230 million from more than 2.7 million sold tickets at 53 sold out concerts. The Where We Are tour, supporting the group’s 2013 album Midnight Memories, launched in April with a 10-show South American leg through six countries. More than 400,000 tickets were sold during the run that included two-show stints in Santiago, Buenos Aires and São Paulo. The European leg followed in late May, beginning with 11 performances at stadiums in the U.K. and Ireland as well as a festival appearance at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Glasgow on May 24. Dublin, Manchester and London each hosted the tour for three-night runs during the U.K./Irish segment of the tour that was reported to Billboard earlier this summer. This week’s tally begins with a two-show stand in Stockholm on June 13 and 14 and includes two-night runs in four more cities: Copenhagen, Paris, Amsterdam and Milan which logged the highest attendance count among the European markets with two performances. Attendance at Milan’s Stadio San Siro totaled 115,931 for concerts on June 28 and 29, generating $7.7 million at the box office. The number of fans at two concerts in Paris was 1,759 less than Milan, but the national stadium of France claims the top gross. Ticket sales at Stade de France totaled $9.7 million for concerts on June 20 and 21. One Direction’s birthday boy Liam Payne has admitted he loves to dress up and go shopping undercover. In fact, the 21-year-old has been walking amongst us for yonks. If only we’d known! He explained: ‘I actually really like being undercover. Not under covers, although that does make me happy too, but like when I was in [New York toy store] FAO Schwarz and literally no one came up to me; I was just walking around with everyone completely unawares. It was really nice. Until this guy came over to me and was like, “Hey man, where’d you score the corn?”‘ However, it’s not often Liam has to trawl the shops because he gets his girlfriend Sophia to do his dirty work. ‘Sometimes I get Soph to do a bit of shopping for me, like, “If you want to see me in anything…” So then she goes off to the lingerie section….’ he joked.

To kick off the album release cycle right, the guys released a preview track, "Fireproof," on their website as a free download. As you'll hear by pressing play below, it's another evolution in the band's style. Previously, they took inspiration from Mumford & Sons; now, the sound is laid-back and easy. It's also, as their songs always are, incredibly catchy. Since being formed on the UK version of The X Factor by Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger, eventually placing third in the contest, the boy band has released four albums in four years, beginning with 2011's Up All Night. Last week, we predicted 1D would have two big hits off this album, but if everything else is as good as "Fireproof," we'll likely be hearing more than just two hits on repeat this winter. The writers for ‘Fireproof’? John Ryan, Jamie Scott, Julian Bunetta, and One Direction’s own Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne. Ryan, Scott, and Bunetta are no strangers to writing One Direction music as all three of them have dabbled in it in the past - like essentially writing every song on Midnight Memories. Seriously: at least one of the three have a co-writing credit on all but 4 of Midnight Memories’ 14 tracks, and the trio also wrote two of the record’s deluxe edition songs. It’s not a bad thing, of course. It’s actually a pretty good insight into the future of Four: if you loved Midnight Memories, you’ll probably love Four, too.
