When Harry Styles released the album cover to his sophomore project, Fine Line, fans began dissecting everything about it. But any music lover might recognize something about its cover too. The distorted circular image might remind hip-hop fans of 1990s music videos, or psychedelic rock fans of an iconic Jimi Hendricks album cover.
The photograph was taken with a fish-eye lens, a novel piece of gear that has excited amateur and professional photographers alike for over half a century. The story of how that lens was developed in the first place might be just as interesting as all the ways it has been used since its invention.

Ellen DeGeneres did not make things easy for her guest Harry Styles. In addition to asking point-blank whether his new album Fine Line was inspired by a breakup (his with Camille Rowe, although she didn't name names), she also let the interview get pretty awkward when talking about his other ex-girlfriend Kendall Jenner. Styles attempted to breeze past the moments with tact, but it still got a little weird. Blame it on both DeGeneres and Styles. Styles, dressed fabulously in a Stay Away from Toxic People sweater and pearl necklace, was being asked about his stint guest hosting for James Corden on the Late Late Show. "So when you hosted for James Corden, your guests were Tracee Ellis Ross and Kendall Jenner. And you and Kendall are really good friends now, right?" DeGeneres asked. "Yeah, we’ve been friends for um, a while now, yeah. Like several years," Styles replied. "That’s sweet that y’all are really good friends," DeGeneres acknowledged, without saying point blank that was because they once dated.

Harry Styles's Fine Line is less than a week old but it's already made a huge cultural impact. The album — comprised of 12 relatable, emotion-filled tunes — has quickly resonated with fans who are so excited to see him back on the boards. In addition to bops and a plethora of great memes, the album has also inspired something else that we're obsessed with: a manicure that is — and I cannot stress this enough — legendary. http://instagram.com/p/B6IoTpoAiCR On Monday, December 16, L.A.-based artist Britney Tokyo posted a photo of a new set of nails she did for Styles, all inspired by tracks on Fine Line. On one hand, she painted Harry's nails electric blue over a bright pink base, writing the letters F-I-N-E across four fingers and the word "line" on his thumb. Styles's other hand draws even more inspiration from the album, featuring depictions of a watermelon, kiwi, cherry, strawberry, and sunflower on each nail — clearly representing some of the tracks from the album, including "Watermelon Sugar," "Cherry," and "Sunflower, Vol. 6."

Harry Styles’ Fine Line album leads the Billboard 200 chart for a second week, as the set earned 89,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Dec. 26, according to Nielsen Music. That’s down 81% compared to its debut a week earlier, when it blasted in atop the tally with 478,000 units. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Jan. 4, 2020-dated chart (where Fine Line holds at No. 1) will be posted in full on Billboard's websites on Dec. 31. Of Fine Line’s overall second-week unit sum, album sales comprise 47,000 of that figure -- down 88% compared to its first-week sales figure of 346,000.

Harry Styles made sure one server’s new year got off to a very plentiful start! Shortly after the “Adore You” singer, 25, was spotted on vacation in Anguilla with longtime pal James Corden and Adele, an employee at a local restaurant shared that Styles left a $2,020 tip on a $472.50 bill after picking up the check on Saturday night. “Big ups to @harrystyles for taking care of Mr Big Life!” the employee wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of the bill, which also featured a handwritten note from Styles, saying, “Happy new year!” “@donniewahlberg you got the second worldwide response from Harry Styles all the way from St Thomas Virgin Islands with @j_corden and @adele,” the employee continued, referring to the equally generous tip the Blue Bloods star recently left after dining at an IHOP in Illinois. Having a bit of fun with the stars, the employee went on to share several photos of Styles and Corden. “Great night with great peeps @j_corden @harrystyles! Salud!” the employee wrote alongside one group photo, while captioning another silly picture, “@harrystyles being the best person he can ever be… @j_corden photobombing! For real?”
