It was a surprising night of red-carpet risks to ring in a fresh new awards season. From a frilly, see-through frock on Gwyneth Paltrow to some classy belly-baring by Kerry Washington to a show-boat look from Billy Porter, the Golden Globes brought a lot of fun and, of course, stellar fashion. See who really nailed it. In a sheer, caramel-colored silky tulle gown done up in delicate ruches and offset in a truly blingy Bulgari necklace—100 carats of diamonds to be exact—Paltrow shone like the star she is. A forever red-carpet star, Blanchett came to play in a stunning Mary Katrantzou creation that's all sweet lemon-yellow and sultry bra-top details. Be still our minimalist hearts and send in the floral embroidery; exaggerated sleeves; and gorgeous mix of pink, red, black and white; then send us on our merry way.

One polka-dot print is lovely, but apparently two is the ticket—because Kravitz was a standout in the black-and-white print done on two scales and tied at the waist with a pretty black bow. Yellow has never had it better than this silk wool jumpsuit with dramatic sleeves, finished with almost 60 carats of sapphire and 23 carats of diamonds on one pendant necklace by Harry Winston. Margot Robbie is elegant and chic in an embroidered multicolor, metallic bustier top with a long skirt in ivory satin crepe from the recent couture collection, paired with Chanel fine jewelry. A pocket is always a plus.
