EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee has once again clarified remarks she made about the band's future, insisting the group hasn't split. Lee, who became a mother for the first time in July, told Rolling Stone she has no plans to hit the studio or the stage with EVANESCENCE, prompting many fans to fear that the band was finished. In an attempt to assure fans that EVANESCENCE wasn't over, Lee posted a message on her Facebook page in September, explaining that "EVANESCENCE is a part of me — it just isn't a complete picture of everything I'm capable of." Speaking to "Sixx Sense With Nikki Sixx" co-host Jenn Marino, Lee voiced pretty much the same sentiments, saying (hear audio below): "It's kind of frustrating sometimes if you read the Internet, ever, about anything. So, literally, I get a little frustrated when I'll literally say, 'No, the band is not over. We're just not doing it now.' And then every response is, 'No. EVANESCENCE is dead.' It's like, 'Man, that's so not what I said. Why do you have to make drama?' I said we're not doing it now. I'm totally open-minded. And, I don't know… I would just get bored doing the same thing forever. There's more to me than that." Asked how she decided when she is working on new music which ideas to use in EVANESCENCE and which to set aside for other projects, Lee told "Sixx Sense With Nikki Sixx": "That's always kind of a thought and a little bit of a decision. And I definitely feel like both things exist inside me. And there are songs that I have in the bank that are both. There are some things [where I think], 'That's like an EVANESCENCE song,' and that's sort of in the EVANESCENCE pile of the bank. And then there [are] other songs where I'm, like, 'I don't know what this is.' This is something that for something else, and I haven't figured out what to do with it yet." She continued: "It's funny. I just went through a long period of time between 'The Open Door' and the last record where I didn't know what I was gonna do next and there was just all this music flowing out. And there's just a big pile of really cool stuff that I still wanna do something with that isn't exactly EVANESCENCE. So there's definitely more things to come out in the future."

Evanescence recently announced a mini tour for November and fans are all excited to see the rock band back in the scene after taking a break for a while. According to a report by Loud Wire, the group fronted by Amy Lee revealed how they added a few more shows after being booked for a one-off show in Japan. "You know, we're already playing Japan, and it seems like a waste to do all that practicing for just one show," Lee said. "So to finally answer the question many of you have been asking since the Ozzfest announcement, YES. We're adding 3 U.S. dates in November!" However, Amy Lee further revealed in the interview that fans shouldn't expect more of Evanescence in the future, as she is currently busy taking care of her one year old baby. "I don't like to make predictions about the future, because I'm honestly open-minded, and I would never want to say I'm done with any of it, because it's a huge part of me," she said. "I've loved my time with Evanescence, I wouldn't want to just throw it away. But, for the foreseeable future, I don't have any plans to do anything with the band. It's really important to me to take some time to show some different sides of myself." "I've said this all the way through Evanescence, especially on the second and third record: 'I have the freedom to express myself completely within the band, so why would I want to do anything else?' And that's true only to an extent, because as much as I could go through a range of emotions, there's a certain expectation there. With the fans, with myself, I know what Evanescence is; it's an entity, it's bigger than just myself, which is awesome, but I can write a song and go, 'That is or isn't an Evanescence song,' and they both happen. So there does need to be other outlets for me to make music." In November, Amy Lee and Evanescence will end a three-year hiatus with an intimate short tour leading up to a headlining spot at Tokyo's Ozzfest. Before entering rehearsals next week, Lee has confirmed to Rolling Stone during a soon-to-be-published interview that there are currently no plans for new music from the band, but that they may expand the tour sometime next year. "I am definitely working and making music with every intention of people hearing it at this point," Lee tells Rolling Stone. "I don't know the plan with Evanescence. I don't have any news or plans for new Evanescence, but new music for me, for sure." Lee also explained why the band will reunite for dates in Nashville, Dallas and Los Angeles leading up to the November 21st appearance in Tokyo. "We got offered to do Ozzfest Japan in the beginning of the year, so I was like 'Let's say yes to that,'" she begins. "I just added the three U.S. dates on to it so we could get a little practice before doing a big gig where everything is out of your control. It will be good to see the fans again. I'm going to be keeping my eye open to us for more opportunities. Like probably next year." It feels really good to have a lot of different things going on at once in the sense that I feel like I'm not just flexing one muscle," Lee says. "The point of it is just to show another side of myself again aside from what people already know about me as the Evanescence girl. It's cool to be able to show what else I can do." Still, Lee regards the reunion as an exciting opportunity to explore her past. "It's such a wonderful gift to have this bag of songs that people know. It makes me very happy to sing 'Bring Me to Life.' I don't feel so disconnected that I can't sing 'My Immortal,' [though] that's just not completely who I am anymore. Yes, I have grown since then. I wouldn't write that song today, but it's become a beautiful part of my history and my fans."

Though Evanescence are playing some shows late in the year, vocalist Amy Lee recently revealed that she’s working on music for herself and wasn’t sure when the band’s next release would be coming. While we’re not sure what she’s planning for herself, she has been keeping her fans entertained with the launch of her YouTube channel. She’s used the outlet to record a couple of cover songs and post them for fans to check out. Her latest is a take on the U2 classic “With Or Without You,” which you can check out in the player above. “Sometimes I dream in music. This dark version of U2’s immortal song was playing in my head as I woke up one morning,” recalls Lee. “I was lingering in that half-awake, half-asleep place, with no images — just darkness, this song and huge emotions. As I was becoming conscious I just kept thinking ‘Don’t let it go, don’t forget!’ And I went straight upstairs and laid down the synth and basic vocal.”

It would have been nice to see her wearing something a bit more colorful or interesting considering DWTS is such a fun and lively show. It looks to me, a bit too casual, as if she’s grabbing dinner with friends. We would have liked seeing her in one of her colorful little minis or pom-pom boots. After a three-year hiatus, Evanescence re-emerged this month with select shows in Nashville, Dallas and Los Angeles. The last time the band performed live was back in November 2012. The fan-filmed video was during Evanescence's concert in Nashville on November 13th. Evanescence is also confirmed to play at Ooziest Japan this month November 21st and 22nd, which is also featuring 22 other acts, including Ozzy Osbourne and Korn. Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee tells Rolling Stone that although there are no plans on the table for Evanescence to record new material, the band may like be performing more live shows in 2016. "I am definitely working and making music with every intention of people hearing it at this point," she said. "I don't know the plan with Evanescence. I don't have any news or plans for new Evanescence, but new music for me, for sure."
