Taylor Swift has never been shy about declaring her love for her cats. And as it turns out when she heads overseas to tour, she really misses them. "When I was starting out I'd go on tour for three months and I was gone for three months. Now almost 10 years in I thank God we get to play bigger shows so I don't have to play as many," she told BBC Radio 1. "If we're playing stadiums, I'll do two or three a week, not five shows a week, then I get to fly home in between. It's not that bad."
"It's not that hard. It's made out to be harder than it is," she further said, adding, "I do have to leave the cats behind when I leave the country, which is the hardest part." Currently on her massive 1989 tour, the singer did reveal the one thing that helps her get through a world trek like the one she's currently undertaking. "Any kind of coffee I can get," she said. "I'm that sort of person that needs coffee every day or I feel like something's a little weird."
And when she comes off stage, Swift dished about what she likes to do. "That's the best part of this [touring]. When you walk off stage and you're drenched in sweat and you're tired and your legs hurt... it feels like you're really working for the job," she said. "It's nice to feel tired after a show. I'm like 'Oh my God, I'm finally doing something'. I really like the feeling of: 'You know what? I've been busy. I deserve this watching two hours of TV at the end of the night'." Her show of choice? "I like Friends because I've seen every episode, so it's like switching my brain off. I know exactly what they're about to say."
Taylor Swift continued her crusade to make all her favorite people hang out with each other when she introduced Law and Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay to her beloved cat Olivia Benson – who happens to be named after Hargitay’s Law and Order: SVU character.
Hargitay made a return appearance to Swift’s 1989 tour on Saturday night in Philadelphia, and backstage Swift introduced the SVU actress to her cat namesake. “This is Olivia Benson meeting Olivia Benson, and things are going well so far,” Swift says in the video.
"Everyone screamed so loud when @mariska came out during Style, I'm considering just taking her on tour with me. #QueenMariska #Justice," Swift tweeted.
Taylor Swift has been on the road for a couple of months now, literally taking over the world with her 1989 World Tour. Sadly, Taylor had to leave her furry besties Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson home while traveling the world. Just seven weeks ago, Tay documented their sad separation with this emotional Instagram.
So it should come as no surprise that as soon as Taylor got home, Olivia and Meredith were the first things she wanted to see. Luckily for Taylor, her youngest cat Olivia was just as excited to see her mom. Olivia's sister, Meredith, on the other hand? Not so much.
Taylor created a hilarious short vid about her reunion with her cats titled, "Coming Home To Mixed Reactions," and Meredith's face is everything! ! It looks like someone wasn't ready for mom to come home just yet. Hopefully next time Taylor is gone for a long time Meredith can at least pretend to be excited.
It's the latest in the kitty chronicles. Taylor Swift shared an Iadorable photo on nstagram of herself and her pampered pet Olivia Benson. "Meerkat Manor," the 25-year-old singer captioned the photo on Monday of Benson standing on her hind legs, resembling the stance of a meerkat, as Swift cuddled up close.
It's been a big year for the "Wildest Dreams" singer, as she's been selling out arenas and stadiums on her 1989 tour. But Benson has had a pretty eventful year too. In June, the furry feline was finally introduced to her namesake. She met Mariska Hargitay, 51, who plays detective Olivia Benson on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, backstage at a show.
It's no secret that Taylor Swift has been traveling across the country in support of her 1989 album. But as the final stops on her U.S. tour approach, the "Shake It Off" crooner appears to be missing her beloved cats including Meredith and Olivia Benson a little more. "Meredith is allergic to joy," Swift wrote on Instagram as her pet looked into the camera with little to no expression. At least T-Swift looks thrilled.
"When you can't take your cats to Canada so you hug a cardboard version of them," she wrote over the weekend on Instagram. "But it's NOT THE SAME." We get it, girl. Luckily everything changed Sunday afternoon when the singer was reunited with her furry friends.
