A girl last seen Tuesday being pulled into a sport-utility vehicle remained missing Thursday, authorities said. But according to FLORIDA TODAY's news partner WKMG Ch. 6, Titusville police are working with Miami-Dade police on a 17-year-old girl who was reported missing in that jurisdiction. She was identified as Daina Bellegarde, who was last seen on May 7. The police departments are working together because the sketch in Titusville is similar to that of Bellegarde's photos.

After a missing toddler was found in the woods of Bullitt County, the sheriff confirms that the child has been placed with CPS. Charlee Campbell was reported missing last week. The 2-year-old girl, who has autism, was found Saturday with scratches and covered in tick bites. Sheriff Donnie Tinnell says he isn't buying the events that led up to her disappearance. Charlee, wearing only a shirt and no pants, wandered to a home 500 yards from where her grandparents live. If she was in the area, the sheriff stated, he wondered why cadaver dogs and volunteers who searched the area hadn't found her.

A 16-year-old girl in British Columbia died of toxic shock syndrome related to her tampon use, a coroner found. Sara Manitoski was found dead on an overnight school trip in March 2017 near Vancouver Island, with an unknown cause of death. Her friends left the cabin that morning for breakfast thinking that she was still sleeping, but when they returned she was still in bed with her alarm going off. Staff and students, along with emergency responders, attempted CPR on Manitoski but she did not recover. Now, over a year later, the coroner has determined that she died of toxic shock syndrome, based on the strain of staphylococcus aureus found on a tampon that was in her body. The report states that she also had other signs of TSS, but notes that tampons are not the only cause of the bacterial infection.
