It's the end of the year as we know it, which means our beloved social platforms have begun to release their year-end user data. And what it reveals is that while Beyoncé and Selena Gomez spent 2017 absolutely reigning the Instagram realm and while Ed Sheeran was racking up the most streams on Spotify, Twitter continued to be a different kind of beast.
The most-liked tweet globally in 2017, according to data released by Spotify on Tuesday (December 5), was a hopeful message from Barack Obama that amassed nearly 4.6 million hearts. "No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion," the former POTUS tweeted on August 12.

Ariana Grande launches new clothing line with Urban Outfitters. Singer and actress, Ariana Grande is set to launch a fashion line with Urban Outfitters today, which will include unreleased garments from her Dangerous Woman tour. The 25-year-old singer has joined forces with the retailer, which will see her drop unreleased merchandise from her Dangerous Woman tour – that came to an end in September this year – in stores in North America on Friday (08.12.17), before it launches online this Monday (11.12.17).
According to WWD, the ‘Side to Side’ singer’s collection will include sweatshirts, sweatpants, T-shirts as well as a variety of jackets and coats, which will retail between $34 and $299. Although Ariana has kept quiet about her latest project, she hopes people will support her latest venture as she believes it is vital for women to encourage others instead of “clawing each other done”.
Speaking previously, she said: “Misogyny is ever present, and we have to be there to support one another. That’s really it. It’s about the sisterhood. There’s no competing in that. We have to lift each other up, not try and claw each other down. “And the idea of being supportive is one the ‘Dangerous Woman’ singer encourages between all social groups, as she says standing up for one another is “the most important thing” people can do.

It just might be time for us to get into the fragrance business. Apparently, it can be quite lucrative — at least, it can be if you’re Ariana Grande. The songstress may be most well known for her music, but word has it she’s doing juuust fiiine when it comes to her side hustle. According to a news release, Ariana has sold more than $150 million in perfumes in the past two years. That includes the sales of her scents Moonlight, Sweet Like Candy, and ARI by Ariana Grande. “The undisputed success of Ariana’s fragrance portfolio is a testament to her authentic connection with her fans and to her evolution from artist to megastar and role model,” Ariana’s manager, Scooter Braun, said in the release.

Even with all the opportunities for party dressing, people tend to get a little lax once the holidays roll around. But you won't see Ariana Grande sipping eggnog in an ugly Christmas sweater. Taking to Instagram yesterday in a voluminous Versace puffer, she gave her fans a taste of fashion history by revisiting Gianni Versace’s famous Fall/Winter 1992 Miss S&M collection. Though she chose one of the tamer looks—it’s a little cold for bondage bustier tops—the hourglass silhouette made an impression.
As the perfect alternative to the basic down jacket, Grande’s unique piece (the result of her stylist Law Roach digging into the archives at Resurrection Vintage) provided a sexy take on cold weather dressing. Paired with leggings, platform boots, and oversized ski googles, the look was snow-bunny sophisticate — completely different from anything this diva has worn before.
