KISS is going to rock and roll all night for one last tour. And the explosive band apparently means it this time. The group announced its final series of live shows, called End of the Road, on “America’s Got Talent” and social media Wednesday. Details are forthcoming, KISS said on its website. “All that we have built and all that we have conquered over the past four decades could never have happened without the millions of people worldwide who’ve filled clubs, arenas and stadiums over those years,” the Rock and Roll Hall Of Famers said in a statement to Billboard. “This will be the ultimate celebration for those who’ve seen us and a last chance for those who haven’t. KISS Army, we’re saying goodbye on our final tour with our biggest show yet and we’ll go out the same way we came in ... unapologetic and unstoppable.”

A look through both of the current U.S. and Global Top 50 charts on Spotify - which tally the highest-streamed songs over the last 24 hours - doesn't show a single active rock or metal track. And all of that all goes without mentioning how rock is entirely absent from Top 40 radio, which it used to have a prominent presence at. While there have been great moments inside rock and metal's bubble over the last few years, the genres have been continually pushed further from the limelight. 2019, however, is beginning to feel like a new dawn for the beloved genres. Numerous A-list acts will be returning with new albums, including Slipknot, Rammstein, the legendary Megadeth and (hopefully) Tool. It has been years since we've had new releases from any of those names, let alone all in one year. Speaking on Slipknot specifically, the band's last two albums debuted at No. 1, which means they are aiming for their third No. 1 in a row in 2019. The group's surprise "All Out Life" single is an incredibly heavy song for Rock Radio's current climate, and yet it has been making a steady climb to where it currently sits at No. 16. Additionally, Danny Wimmer will be taking his numerous festivals to the next level. Perhaps most notable is Rock On the Range's replacement, Sonic Temple. The three-day art and music fest will feature headliners Foo Fighters, System of a Down and Disturbed, alongside Bring Me the Horizon, the Prodigy, Ghost, Halestorm, Lamb of God and many others.

Move over Joan Jett — Holocaust survivor Inge Ginsberg is the latest female heavy metal sensation. Austrian-born Ginsberg may have grown up on Viennese waltzes, but her current passion is for heavy metal. The reason the almost 97-year-old is taken with the musical genre popularized by bands such as Black Sabbath, Def Leppard and Metallica is simple: “I can’t sing. I can’t carry a tune. So heavy metal works because I just have to say the words,” she said.
Speaking to The Times of Israel in her central Tel Aviv apartment, Ginsberg seemed extremely pleased with the attention her highly unusual gig as front woman for Inge & the TritoneKings has brought her. Four videos of the band’s performances, along with a New York Times op-doc short film about Ginsberg, have racked up hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube. The world is evidently curious about this Jewish grandmother who screams into the microphone in English and German while wearing pearls and an evening gown.

Shred guitar legend Joe Stump is back with a new album, The Dark Lord Rises, which was released October 23 via Lion Music (Finland). Below, you can check out a track from the album, the Ritchie Blackmore-influenced "Stratomaster." "'Stratomaster' is one of my favorite songs on the album," Stump says. "It's got a lot of technical action plus a ton of balls and attitude. It rocks." Besides Blackmore, one of Stump's greatest influences is the late Gary Moore. "When it comes to the emotional side of my playing, Gary Moore is someone I definitely try to channel," he says. "On 'Tortured Soul,' a lot of the phrasing, inflection, note choices, bending and solo vocabulary are heavily inspired by Gary. When it comes to emotionally drenched playing, nobody beats Gary. He combined all of the elements that make rock guitar playing great: technical command, gut-wrenching emotion and a killer tone. He also had this power and intensity in his hands that really knocked me out from the very first time I heard him."
