Carly Rae Jepsen and Danny L Harle’s new song, “Super Natural,” is undoubtedly the collaboration of the summer. It elevates Jepsen’s pop prowess to new heights while pushing Harle closer and closer to chart contender status. (Don’t expect him to ever embrace the mainstream like a full-fledged pop star, though. He’s too far ahead of the curve.) Together, they complement each other perfectly: she balances his hyperactive, glossy melodies with her fairytale lyrics and vocal delivery that’s both naively heartfelt and earnest all at once. It’s huge for both of them. The video itself captures this moment perfectly. There’s a sense that anything can happen. Jepsen’s giddiness, as she runs through this super-future, super-fabricated Los Angeles home, is contagious. It’s an unreal setting for an unreal feeling that’s universal: the endless possibility of joy a new romance brings.

Canadian pop-musician and contender for the title of Queen of Pop, Carly Rae Jepsen, has blessed us on Friday with an unexpected yet very pleasant surprise. A new EP called “E•MO•TION: Side B”, to be exact. After releasing her already brilliant third studio album, E•MO•TION, exactly one year ago, the singer decided that it was time to honor the commercially underrated piece of pop music art by debuting a companion EP. It’s a birthday celebration of a very special kind as all of the featured tracks were, in the beginning, intended to be featured on the original album but then had to be scrapped. But don’t assume that “Emotion: Side B” is any less good because of the fact that it contains unreleased songs. Jepsen actually recorded over 250 songs of album-worthy marterial which she later had to narrow down to 17. In an interview with Rookie Mag, she explained how she fought hard with her record company about how many songs could be put on the album and how many had to go. She loved every one of them so the choice was difficult.

Blood Orange a.k.a. Dev Hynes has shared a new video for "Better Than Me", on which Carly Rae Jepsen provides the faintest whisper of vocals. The moody indie-R&B song is taken from Hynes' third album "Freetown Sound", which was released on June 28. Jepsen sings, "Ninety-nine percent, I know you're not fine/ Now everyone could be mistakenly kind/ Say what you will, what you want/ Know it's not the time that you can," before Hynes joins Carly, singing, "How long before your journey will end in sweet stone?/ Walls inside of me that then tell me to breathe."

Lorde, Charli XCX, and Carly Rae Jepsen are superstars all on their own, but can you imagine what the world would be like if they all came together? Well, it looks like your three favorites are about to make this wish come true as they came up with the amazing idea to form a girl band at their latest appearance at the Ally Coalition benefit show in New York City in support of LGBTQ youth. The idea was further emphasized through an emoji-filled Twitter exchange, where they all agreed that it's the Best. Idea. Ever. And we couldn't agree more. Lorde and Charli are already sharing a lineup at this year's Governor's Ball, so they're basically a trio waiting to happen. Fans are anticipating new music from Lorde and Charli, so coming together for a major supergroup seems like perfect timing to us. We'll never say no to women supporting other women, and it seems like these three won't, either.

The 2017 NHL All-Star Game is going down at LA’s Staples Center tonight, and a very blonde Carly Rae Jepsen was on hand to kick things off with a rendition of the Canadian national anthem. Fifth Harmony were supposed to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner,” but, as Billboard reports, they ended up dropping out at the last minute due to “illness,” which may or may not be code for “Trump’s America is making us sick and we’re not really feeling all that patriotic.” (Courtney Daniels filled in for them.)
