Medvedeva won the first tournament of the season on Saturday - the Ondreya Memorial of Nepela in Bratislava. The skater performed a short program purely, showing the second result in the history of women's single skating (80.00) and losing only to her own world record (80.85). In an arbitrary program, Medvedeva allowed a blot on the triple lutz and got 146.72 points. All jumps, except the double axel, the two-time world champion performs in the second part of the program. "We can do something else, some adjustments to the approaches, the technique of jumping, we'll work on the rotations, on the quality of the skating, we'll look for some" chips "to make it comfortable for the skate, and it looked interesting," - said Medvedeva, answering the question of journalists, whether changes in the programs of the Olympic season are possible. "This is more difficult for me, it's new," added Medvedeva, referring to the new technical content of the program: "Two cascades in the second half, only one jump in the first half. But one gets used to everything, everything rolls in, we'll work."

Russian figure skater Yevgenia Medvedeva commented on the results of her performances at the tournaments this season. - What can you say about the results of recent competitions in Japan? Are you satisfied with your rentals? - Yes, I am. The only thing that upset me is the drop in an arbitrary program, but I'll fix it. - Did some mistakes in the Open Skates in Sochi and in competitions in Bratislava become unexpected for you? How did you survive these moments? - For me, there was an unexpected mistake at the last jump to the Grand Prix of Russia. But all the mistakes I made in the Open Skates and in the tournament in Bratislava, went to my advantage, and I tried to correct them. And I will try to correct this mistake in the near future. - How do you feel about the now popular television ice show? Do you see yourself in them after the end of your career? - I do not think about it yet, because now I am an amateur skater. I do not think about professional figure skating, - said Medvedeva.

Two-time world and European champion Evgenia Medvedeva about the injury, the last stages of the Grand Prix series and the upcoming finals. - Zhenya, after NHK Trophy, you did not go into details, mentioned the injury to your right leg. What was it really? - A few days before the Moscow Grand Prix I felt a pain in my right leg, but frankly I do not know a sportsman performing at such a high level who would not hurt anything. It is clear that I continued to prepare for the start. But 2-3 days before the Grand Prix, the pain intensified, we turned to the doctors who diagnosed a crack in the metatarsal bone of the right foot. At the "Cup of Rostelecom" I went for an analgesic, then immediately went to Germany, where the diagnosis was confirmed. German doctors gave recommendations, gave out many different vitamins, so that the bone quickly grew together and healed. Before the Japanese Grand Prix I had even to reduce the load. To my treatment, our Russian doctors joined. In general, everything - and our Federation, and the doctors did everything possible to help me, so that I could quickly recover. Thank you all very much! But in such a short time the trauma to the end was not healed. Nevertheless, I felt some improvement. In this state, I went to the NHK Trophy . Yes, there was a big risk that the leg simply could not stand it. But this is the Olympic season, and it is completely unclear what will happen in the future with this whole situation around our sport, and in my career there was not yet a case when I refused to compete because of injury, even if I was injured. In Osaka, after a short program, I felt worse. A free program has already been used for strong painkillers. We spent a day in Japan, I underwent a medical examination, made an MRI that showed cracks in the bones of the right foot.

-- Like now? - A leg in a cast. As soon as we returned from Japan to Moscow, I was plastered. I'm going through a rehabilitation course. I do my best to recover. I'm very helped with everything. Once again I want to say thank you to our Federation, coaches, doctors who support me and experience .. The question with the Grand Prix final open? - If doctors forbid me from performing in Japan, then this will be the worst scenario. It will be very difficult for me to watch from the side for the struggle of athletes. Moreover, I was selected for the final. And, as I said, these will be the first competitions in my career that I will miss because of injury. But I very much hope that this will not happen. In any case, for myself, I decided that I will perform at the Grand Prix final, no matter what.
