Taylor Swift surprised no-one by winning four major awards at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards – but it was her final speech of the night that got her fans to sit up and take notice. Accepting the video of the year award for Bad Blood, Taylor spoke out publicly about the criticisms the video has been receiving and how in 2015, gender norms no longer exist. ‘There’s been a lot of discussion about this video and what it means,’ she revealed, before adding: ‘But I’m just happy that in 2015, we live in a world where boys can play princesses and girls can play soldiers.’ Taylor also took the time to thank the fans for the ‘bonding experience’, admitting: ‘The fact that you would vote and give us this bonding experience that we will have forever, thank you from the bottom of my heart,’ while also lamenting the fact that Kendrick Lamar, who collaborated on the track, couldn’t be there. ‘I wanna thanks Kendrick Lamar,’ she said. ‘I wish he was here, but he’s off on tour in Europe being AMAZING.’ Joining Tay on stage were her Bad Blood co-stars many of whom had also walked the red carpet with their BFF earlier in the evening. Selena Gomez, Cara Delevingne, Hailee Steinfeld, Karlie Kloss, Martha Hunt, Gigi Hadid and Serayah were just some of the names who rocked up to the party with Taylor and were seen enjoying themselves throughout the evening – and beforehand.

Time to revive her signature surprised face! Taylor Swift won her first Emmy ever at the 2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday, Sept. 12, in Los Angeles, and the singer could barely contain her excitement. “WHEN THEY OVERNIGHT YOU AN EMMY I DID NOT KNOW THIS WAS A THING,” she posted one epic shot with her entire crew with the golden statue in the center. Swift, who is currently on a world tour to support her latest album, 1989, did not attend the ceremony. Swift, 25, took home the win for Original Interactive Program for her AMEX Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience project. The “Wildest Dreams” singer expressed her disbelief in a few more photos, including one in which she called out her own selfie shenanigans. The songstress swept this year’s MTV VMAs as well, taking home Video of the Year for “Bad Blood.” And on Friday, Aug. 21, Swift received an unexpected award from an unlikely source: Kobe Bryant. While on the Los Angeles leg of her 1989 World Tour at the Staples Center, the NBA player presented the singer with a banner that read “Taylor Swift Most Sold Out Performances.”
