We know Star Wars-inspired hair is a thing, but when Daisy Ridley, aka Rey from The Force Awakens, does it, she wins (no question). At the 2016 Oscars, Daisy walked the red carpet wearing her hair in a very Rey way featuring a medley of twisted, multibun loops down the back of her head.
The style was polished and glossy with a futuristic, helmet-like finish. She paired it with minimal eye makeup, bronzer that accentuated her cheekbones, and a cherry-red lip. Keep reading to see more angles of the gorgeous red carpet hit!
“Me and Mark have been rehearsing a lot, and it’s really amazing,” Ridley said “When we went back to Skellig to do the opening of [Episode] VIII, it was so crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people. He’s amazing to rehearse with, and I’m very excited to be doing the rest of the stuff. It’s such a good story. Seriously. Luke is so cool in this one. Really.”
Daisy Ridley got an early birthday present at the MTV Movie Awards. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens star, who turns 24 on Sunday, won the golden popcorn statuette for Breakthrough Performance at Saturday’s ceremony.
“It feels especially amazing to be part of a film that represents all genders, all races, and all ages in a positive way,” Ridley said as she accepted the prize.
The British actress had a big year as part of The Force Awakens, giving fans a new hero to cheer for in Rey, the young scavenger from Jakku who finds she’s strong with the Force and can wield a lightsaber like the best of them. Ridley beat out Amy Schumer (Trainwreck), Brie Larson (Room), Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey), John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), and O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton) for the honor.
And it appears that that might not have been all the two royals did on set, as, per the Daily Mail, during their visit, Prince William and Prince Harry also filmed cameos for the film, which is due to hit theaters in December of 2017.
Now, this seems like exactly the sort of rumor that is going to be hard to break down either way, as neither the palace nor Lucasfilm is exactly the type to be forthcoming about responding to stories or issuing statements (neither organization confirmed the Daily Mail’s report). But this sure is fun to think about it, no? Imagine William bounding through the door and running out to the patio where Kate is sipping an iced tea, flinging his iPhone in her face. “Kate, Kate, Kate, look!”
The Daily Mail says that the two brothers will be playing stormtroopers in the film, meaning their faces will unfortunately not be visible. “The princes dressed up in full stormtrooper gear and filmed a scene in which Rey and Finn infiltrate a secret base,” their source said. “The rebel characters are in a lift with Benicio del Toro’s character when a group of stormtroopers enter – two of whom are William and Harry.” Per the report, “The line given was that they were going to have lunch and a private tour of the rest of the set. What really happened is that the director came over and told them it was time to ‘get suited’ and off they went to the wardrobe department.”
Now, there is some precedence for this, as Daniel Craig filmed a cameo in The Force Awakens—also in costume—which he initially denied but was later confirmed to be true. That film was, in fact, crammed with cameos, though none from any heirs to the throne.
Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley has opened up about her battle against gynaecological condition, endometriosis.
Taking to Instagram, the British actress revealed how she was diagnosed with the illness aged 15, and how it damaged her self-esteem during her teenage years.
She also mentioned how the condition flared up again last year during her publicity duties for Star Wars: The Force Awakens – which basically saw her become one of the most recognisable faces on the planet.
Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley has deleted her Instagram account because of the "pressure" of posting to millions of followers.
Ridley, who played Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, stepped back from the photo-sharing social media service - and her 2.3 million followers - last month.
She had reportedly received online abuse after sharing a photo of herself after the 2016 Teen Choice Awards, in which she was joined by teenage relatives of victims of mass shootings in Orlando, Newtown and San Bernardino.
In the Instagram post, Ridley wrote: "As I sat in the audience yesterday tears were streaming down my face at the tribute to those that have been lost to gun violence."
