A whistleblower previously voiced concerns over the safety of the missing Titanic submersible, court documents claim.
The 2018 documents reveal that an Oceangate employee raised issues about the safety and design of the vessel, named Titan.
Contact with the miniature sub, which has five people on board, was lost on Sunday as it made a 3,800m (12,467 ft) descent to the Titanic wreck.

More noises have been detected in the search for a submersible which went missing on Sunday while on a dive to see the Titanic wreck site, the US Coast Guard says.
Capt Jamie Frederick said they did not know what the noises were and the US navy was helping analyse them.
Meanwhile rescuers have expanded the search area to twice the size of the US state of Connecticut, he said.
More boats and underwater vehicles were due to join the search on Thursday.

U.S. Coast Guard officials share the latest briefing after a debris field was located near the Titanic in the search for a missing submersible with five people aboard, a potential breakthrough in an increasingly urgent around-the-clock effort.
The Coast Guard's post on Twitter gave no details, such as whether officials believe the debris is connected to the Titan, which was on an expedition to view the wreckage of the Titanic. The search passed the critical 96-hour mark Thursday morning when breathable air could have run out.
