As part of the 64th Annual BMI Pop Awards, the Bad Blood singer received two honors, including Pop Songwriter of the Year and the first-ever Taylor Swift Award, the latter of which recognized her "creative and artistic talent and influence," according to Billboard. Swift is the second entertainer to take home the eponymous award — Michael Jackson was the first — and, as she openly teased on-stage at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel ballroom, "If they had chosen somebody else, I’d be, like, kind of bummed about it." While Swift's acceptance speech may have been leavened by humor, her fashion game was something serious. The singer cut a fierce silhouette with a gothic, velvet gown from Monique Lhuillier, which harked back to the best of the 90s. She pulled together the look with an Anya Hindmarch clutch, Borgioni earrings and a diamond Noudar choker.

Tuesday at the 64th annual BMI Pop Awards the singer took home Pop Songwriter of the Year and also won the Taylor Swift award, which was previously announced. The award was a recognition of both her musical influence, and creative and artistic talent. In her acceptance speech Swift acknowledged that she was happy not to have any bad blood had somebody else won the award named after her. “I’m really super relieved that BMI decided to give me the Taylor Swift award, because if they had chose somebody else to give the Taylor Swift award to I’d be like kind of bummed about it,” the singer joked. “Taylor Swift has transformed pop culture through her songs, artistry and indomitable spirit,” said Barbara Cane, BMI’s Vice President of Writer/Publisher Relations said in a statement last month. “She has had a profound impact, not only musically, but also through her personal conviction and commitment to create a standard that values and respects music for everyone. We felt it appropriate to award Taylor with an honor that is as unique and special as she is.”
