On the 26th, the third day of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian organization Hamas released 17 more hostages (14 Israelis and 3 foreigners) abducted from Israel. This is the third time that hostages have been released during the ceasefire that began on the 24th, with a total of 41 people released from detention in the previous two.

Israel plans to release a total of 150 detained Palestinians in exchange for the release of its own hostages, and a total of 78 Palestinians have actually been released. Separately, governments are currently negotiating with Hamas for the release of hostages from other countries, including Thailand, who were attacked while working on farms in Israel.
