Grace VanderWaal continues her reign of adorableness with this exclusive debut of her lyric video for her latest track, “Light the Sky.” The 12-year-old ukulele player, who won both hearts and America’s Got Talent this summer, released her first EP, Perfectly Imperfect, earlier this month. VanderWaal’s audition on the show earned her a Taylor Swift comparison from Simon Cowell and became one of the most popular YouTube videos of the year. “Light the Sky” is an original song VanderWaal first performed on AGT. The lyric video features the glow-in-the-dark stars you either had on your childhood bedroom ceiling or wished your parents would allow you to have changing formations in time to the music.

Singer-songwriter and ukuleleist Grace VanderWaal was delivering cheery and quirky songs long before she became an “America’s Got Talent” winner. The 12-year old singing sensation used her unique, ukelele-strumming talents prior to joining season 11 of “America’s Got Talent” to sing a one-of-a-kind cover of the holiday classic “Frosty the Snowman.” Vanderwaal’s original songs, which she got to belt out on the “America’s Got Talent” stage this season, include “I Don’t Know My Name,” “Clay,” “Beautiful Thing” and “Light the Sky.” To get into the Christmas spirit, take a look at her ukulele cover from last year below to prepare for her headlining this Monday’s Holiday Spectacular:

Today, just a few weeks after the release of her brand-new EP Perfectly Imperfect, Grace dropped a lyric video for her single "Gossip Girl." Though the title might make listeners initially think of Blair and Serena, Grace's song strikes a slightly different — and yet very relatable — chord. "Gossip Girl" has that schoolgirl vibe of giggling and passing notes in class — except Grace's handwritten notes contain candid lyrics that address that universal feeling of being whispered about behind your back. We can all probably remember what it was like to go to sleepovers in middle school, feeling worried about what might have been said when we leave the room. With lyrics like, "Pinky swears and bracelets / always telling secrets / at slumber parties," that's exactly the emotions that her song brings. It also serves as a reminder to be nice to one another, and to treat our peers exactly how we'd like to be treated.
