The christening of Prince George has taken place in the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace in London. When the Queen's car arrived at St James's Palace, nearby doors opened and young George could be heard gurgling. His grandfather Charles and stepmother Camilla walked forward to meet the Queen, who was already being greeted by the Archbishop and the Bishop of London Richard Chartres. Prince George leaves the christening service with his parents. The christening service of Prince George lasted around 35 minutes and when it came to an end, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen were the first to leave, with the monarch clutching a copy of the order of service. Prince George left his christening in the arms of his mother the Duchess of Cambridge. The Archbishop and the Bishop of London were waiting on the steps and were thanked by the family and friends of the royal couple as the guests left. Charles and Camilla were behind the monarch and the heir to the throne followed the Queen into nearby St James's Palace which is connected to Clarence House where the proud grandfather and his wife were hosting a private tea. Kate and William left the chapel together with the duchess holding her son who was wide eyed and clasped his hands together. Prince George arrived in the arms of Prince William

Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas might be getting serious, but they're not quite ready to attend sacred royal family occasions together. Despite reports over the weekend saying Bonas was mulling over an invitation to this Wednesday's Christening of Harry's nephew Prince George, the 24-year-old in fact has not been asked and wasn't expecting to be, those close to her say. An appearance at such an intimate royal family occasion would also put unwanted pressure on the couple. "If she went to this totally private service, it would be tantamount to saying they were about to be engaged," a well-placed observer says. Kate Middleton's stylish sister, Pippa Middleton, went the classic route for the christening of 3-month-old baby Prince George on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The 30-year-old aunt, dressed in a seasonally-appropriate, cream-colored, wool trapeze coat as she entered St. James's Palace, chose a lace "warm, blush oyster" hued shift dress underneath. The dress had a high neckline, though simple with sheer panels at the neckline. Both coat and dress were designed by British couture designer Suzannah Crabb, who also styled Pippa's 5'9'' frame from head to toe.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge greet family members for the christening of Prince George, and they all seem delighted to be together. Prince George has worn a traditional gown at his christening at St James's Palace. The godparents, as disclosed by the palace six hours before the ceremony, include the single royal, William's cousin, Zara Phillips Tindall, the queen's granddaughter and daughter to Princess Anne the Princess Royal (who is in Canada). An Olympic equestrian champion, she's married to ex-rugby player Mike Tindall and is pregnant with her first child. Matching outfits: Kate carries her son after the christening, accompanied by the Duchess of Cornwall and Pippa Middleton The other godparents are Oliver Baker, an old college friend of the couple; Emilia Jardine-Patterson (formerly d'Erlanger), a high school friend of Kate's and old friend to Will, who introduced them; Hugh, Earl Grosvenor, son of the Duke of Westminster and old friend of Will and Harry; Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, the couple's former private secretary who still advises them and whose son was in the royal wedding; Julia Samuel, a close friend of Will's late mother, Princess Diana; and William van Cutsem, one of Will's closest childhood friends and son of Prince Charles' close friend Hugh van Cutsem, who died a few weeks ago. The van Cutsem family provided a refuge for William and Harry during their parents' bitter divorce; Will is godfather to van Cutsem's daughter Grace who was in the royal wedding. The Duchess of Cambridge has said that Prince George was "a good boy" at his christening yesterday. "He was such a good boy actually, we’re very lucky - he’s not always like that", she said. One day after celebrating Prince George's christening at the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace in London, Kate Middleton and Prince William have released four official portraits from the happy occasion. The images, taken by celeb photographer Jason Bell, were snapped immediately following the Oct. 23 baptism in the Morning Room at Clarence House, Kensington Palace said in a press release. One photo shows just the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with their firstborn son, who turned 3 months old on Tuesday, Oct. 22. Middleton, 31, looks radiant in an ivory dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, who also designed her famed wedding dress, worn back in April 2011. Another portrait from the big day shows Queen Elizabeth II and the three future monarchs of England, Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince George. This shot is truly a historic one: The last time four generations of monarchs were featured in the same picture was in 1894, when Queen Victoria was photographed with her son (King Edward VII), grandson (King George V), and great-grandson (King Edward VIII).
