In this episode of The Journey, Sponsored by Motrin, we catch up with Mallory Pugh, who made history when she decided to turn pro at 18. WNT vs. Canada: Highlights - Nov. 9, 2017
U.S. women's national team goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher made a fingertip save late in Thursday's game at BC Place—the first game the USWNT had played there since winning the 2015 World Cup over Japan—to preserve a 1-1 draw with Canada in a game that was low on fluidity and high on misplaced passes and failure to clear balls in the box for both teams.
The result made it only the seventh time these two teams have tied in 57 games and the USWNT have Naeher to thank for that

In a year of questions, at least the United States finished with an answer. Not the most important answer sought by this team, mind you. Not one that would make the first page of the most pressing queries on the road to where they want to go. But after a second-half lead against rival Canada was erased for the second time in four days, this time at home, goals from the familiar combination of Alex Morgan and Carli Lloyd propelled the U.S. women to a 3-1 win. The Americans thus finish their calendar year with a 12-3-1 record. Thanks to Sunday, that includes a 4-3-1 mark against teams ranked among the top 10 in the world (as well as wins at Norway and Sweden, old nemeses and traditional powers that are currently ranked outside the top 10). After a year spent searching for the keys that will unlock the future, more than 30 players called in for national team duty at some point and more than a dozen given a first cap, the answer against Canada came from players who have done this a few times before. Six minutes after Canada tied the score by blowing apart the American back line, Nichelle Prince's full-throttle run freeing Janine Beckie for a finish in the 50th minute, the United States retook the lead.
