Disney characters, music and skating - what more could you want? Ok, a chance to climb up Pride Rock is probably up there, but if you go and see Disney On Ice you do get to see it. The popular show on ice is returning to the UK so you'll be able to see it, and more, sooner rather than later. Touring the UK in March onwards the show has had a few tweaks - as it always does - but all your much-loved film characters make an appearance from Frozen to Little Mermaid. UK tour dates for Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment 2018 Glasgow 15th - 18th March 2018 - The SSE Hydro, Glasgow Leeds 21st - 25th March 2018 - First Direct Arena, Leeds Birmingham 28th March - 1st April 2018 - Genting Arena, Birmingham London 4th - 8th April - The SSE Arena, London

Minnesota audiences got a preview last year when Disney on Ice came through the Twin Cities with a show featuring the Mouse House’s entire lineup of characters. The “Frozen” portion stole the show. Lemme tell ya, when the opening melody of “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” hit the arena’s speakers, every preschooler at Target Center lost their collective minds. Lost. Their. Minds. What to expect: Lots of twizzles. Some pyro. Kristoff does a back flip (on skates!). And Elsa and Anna’s big numbers sound even bigger when streaking across a rink of ice. Much of the 2013 movie’s story line will be retold, from Elsa using her powers to freeze Arendelle to the two sisters finding out that love is an open door — and finally reuniting to save their kingdom. In the production, reindeer really are better than people, as Sven’s massive costume takes two skaters (one for the front legs and another for the hindquarters). And you should definitely warn your very young children that, yes, there’s a snow monster. And he’s no fixer-upper — he’s huge. Guest stars: As with most Disney on Ice productions, Mickey and Minnie act as hosts, narrating the “Frozen” tale. That’s right, it’s like storytime, but with several thousand people in a chilly arena. Also, a few more characters from Disney/Pixar’s roster will make guest appearances (maybe Simba?).

FOUR young ice skaters from Boondall Figure Ice Skating Club will appear in front of a capacity crowd at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on June 30. Caitlyn Ryan, 8 of Northgate, Grace Seaton, 11 of Boondall, Erica Russell, 15 of Murrumba Downs and Holly Stevenson, 11 of North Lakes will join 14 other young skaters to perform a pre-show before the Disney On Ice Celebrates 100 Years of Magic. Club secretary Natalie Stevenson, and Holly’s mother, said the girls were all very excited about the opportunity. “None have ever performed in a Disney pre-show – they’re all first timers – so this is their first big thing,” she said.
