Alena Kostornaya, the silver medalist of the final, admitted that in figure skating her main rival is herself. "I think that the main rival is you, and each time you have to prove to yourself that you can do it." "It's a clean program, without blots." In principle, I managed, but I need to work further. I have four jumps, but besides jumping, I want to show the same skating as Carolina Costner, "said the figure skater. The bronze medalist of the Grand Prix final Anastasia Tarakanova said that she plans to study complex elements, jumps. "We need to work on, improve the rotation, invent something, try to make people, spectators happy, so that they get emotions, they want to come to the competitions, watch and get sick," commented Nastya.

Darya Panenkova in the Grand Prix finals became the fifth, but, according to the athlete, she delivered the assigned task. "I'm glad that I did everything, I did the task I was doing in these competitions." In an arbitrary program we changed jumps, because on all starts I had a rib or an exclamation mark on my flip (the correct edge is in doubt), so I decided with the coaches, that we obtain higher points if we replace the flip with a Salchow. I really liked to perform here. I went out and did not worry about any rent. It was easy to ride. It is happy with hire. If it were not for the flip in the short program, it could be higher. I liked that there were a lot of spectators here. I never performed at such a crowd of people and did not know what it was like. After the competition, the fans gave many gifts. And I also wanted to get to know Nathan Chen for a long time. After the Moscow Grand Prix, I wrote to him in instagram, and to my surprise, he answered me. And yesterday he congratulated me on my birthday," Dasha confessed.

Sophia Samodurova was upset by the points she received, and, going out to reporters, she could not restrain emotions and tears. Alexei Nikolayevich said he was proud of me, these are the best words I never heard from him before, he never said such things, even when I skated better, these are kind words, and it gives me motivation to work on. In the final of the Grand Prix strong athletes gathered. Alexei Nikolaevich set me up: "Do your own thing, so that the heart be hot and the head cold." In the finals our girls and Japanese participated. And I'm glad that I could work with them for these days. I will not give up. I will learn new complex elements and prepare for the championship of Russia. With our girls, we communicate very well. Everyone supported and supports each other, "Sonia said. Grand Prix Finals. ISU JGP Final - Pairs Free Skating - Nagoya 2017 World silver medalists Aljona Savchenko/Bruno Massot of Germany soared to victory setting a new record score in the Free Skating as the Pairs event wrapped up at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Nagoya (JPN) Saturday. Reigning World Champions Wenjing Sui/Cong Han of China moved up one spot to take the silver medal and Canada’s two-time World Champions Meagan Duhamel/Eric Radford pulled up from fourth to claim the bronze. Skating to ‘La terre vue du ciel’, Savchenko/Massot put out a spectacular performance, reeling off a huge triple twist, side by side triple Salchow-double toe-double toe, triple toe, a throw triple Lutz and amazing lifts. The only glitch was a shaky landing on the throw triple Salchow. The European silver medalists picked up a level four for six elements and scored 157.25 points for a total of 236.68 points. The Germans got five perfect 10.00s. “I saw the score of the Chinese team (Sui/Han) and I knew the level was very high and the program will be difficult. But we wanted to give the best and everything went well except for that tiny little mistake. We felt it was a big practice for the Olympic Games. The top six pairs were here and the level was so high. Now we have to calm down and to realize that we got the gold. We have to keep practicing this way and be ready for the Olympic Games,” Massot commented.
