'I am blown away by the support,' Morris says.
Maren Morris' second studio LP Girl, released March 8, flies in at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart dated March 23. In its first week, ending March 14, the set earned 46,000 equivalent album units (25,000 in traditional album sales), according to Nielsen Music.
On the all-genre Billboard 200, Girl, released on Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville, starts at No. 4, marking Morris' second top 10 and highest career rank.
Girl marks the first No. 1 debut by a woman on Top Country Albums of 2019 and the first since Carrie Underwood's Cry Pretty arrived atop the survey dated Sept. 29, 2018, with 266,000 units.

Grammy-winning country star Maren Morris never got Simon Cowell's seal of approval, but that's certainly not keeping her up at night.
During an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," Morris was asked by a caller about her past rejections from "American Idol" and "The Voice."
"You were rejected from both of those shows?" a surprised Andy Cohen pressed.
"Oh yeah, that's not even it," Morris replied. "I was rejected from 'America's Got Talent' -- there were a ton I didn't make it to. Thank God!"

When Kacey Musgraves stepped onto the Grammy Awards stage in February to accept the Album of the Year award for her album Golden Hour, Maren Morris wasn’t only proud, but instinctively knew it would change just about everything. “So many artists from this town brought hardware home,” reflects Morris during a recent interview with Taste of Country Nights. “I felt so proud of this town. I felt like it put us even more on the map and [showed] just how diverse the music of this city is right now. Obviously, Kacey winning the biggest trophy of the night was a testament to it really being a spotlight on Nashville from now on.” Musgraves swept every category she was nominated in, including Best Country Solo Performance for "Butterflies" and Best Country Song for "Space ." She also won Best Country Album. Morris says that Musgraves’ big wins just might mean that even more star power will come to Music City in the months and years ahead. “There are L.A. writers and writers from all over the world that have been coming here for years but especially will be now,” says Morris, who released her new album Girl on March 8. “Ed Sheeran’s been writing here and Camila Cabello. It’s broken the levee.” While Morris seems to welcome new creative energy to town, the one thing she’s not looking forward to is the added traffic it might bring into the already congested city. “I like living on the east side because there is more privacy but yeah, the pedal taverns and the party barges are starting to take over East Nashville as well too,” Morris says. “I got stuck behind one."

Maren Morris performed a show at the Wiltern in Los Angeles on Friday (March 29) and brought a special surprise for the audience — Jojo! http://instagram.com/p/Bvn0_5wnYUs Jojo is a pop artist who has earned numerous platinum and gold singles and albums. She joined Morris live to perform her smash 2006 hit "Too Little Too Late." http://instagram.com/p/BvcbLxAHkxn "It's just too little, too late / A little too long / And I can't wait / But you know all the right things to say / You know it's just too little, too late / You say you dream of my face / But you don't like me / You just like the chase to be real / It doesn't matter anyway / You know it's just too little, too late," the pair sing in the chorus. Morris shared a clip of their performance to social media, writing, "oh, just singing Too Little Too Late tonight with QUEEN @iamjojo thanks for blessing us with that voice tonight, my love." Morris also had Jojo fill in on Brandi Carlile's part on their collaboration on "Common." Though Jojo is a pop artist, she does have a unique soulful quality to her voice which brought the song to life and did Carlile's portion justice.
