What we know is that someone, for some reason, successfully hit Ariana Grande in the chest with a lemon during her performance at Coachella. We know this because there’s clear video evidence: What we’re less clear on is...why. The prevailing theory is that the lemon is in retaliation for Grande getting paid twice as much as Beyoncé during her own groundbreaking Coachella set the year prior. You know, lemon, Lemonade, get it? You do. Newsweek has it that Bey was paid just $4 million for her headlining act, while Grande was reportedly paid a whopping $8 million, likely at least in part because she was brought on at the last minute after Kanye West fell through.

“What the fuck is happening in there?”, an over-awed punter remarked as they stood outside the Mojave tent on Friday. “I don’t know, but it looks weird as fuck,” their friend replied. It was definitely weird as fuck, and utterly brilliant; SOPHIE’s Friday night set was a masterclass in performance. Dressed in a long black dress and latex gloves, she stood frozen behind her decks for the full hour, the only perceptible movement being her hands lightly moving over the controls. The highlight? Having her twist ‘It’s Okay To Cry’ into ‘Is It Cold In The Water’ as the closer. It might have bewildered the casual punter, but for the devoted…this was the best it got.

The herpes tracking app, "HerpAlert," is reporting a "massive" outbreak of the sexually transmitted disease in California, which they believe to be associated with the Coachella music festival. Local media reports that HerpAlert, which allows users of the app to self-report potential cases of the virus in return for access to doctors who can give them a full diagnosis and prescribe medications to deal with the virus's side effects, received at least 250 requests for herpes medication per day during the music festival. Most of the requests came from the area of the festival itself and surrounding towns where many festival-goers were staying during the event. "In all, 1,105 herpes cases were reported in the Coachella Valley area and in the nearby cities of Los Angeles and San Diego," the New York Post reported. The number is a record for HerpAlert. The next largest number of claims in Los Angeles occurred the day of and the day after the Academy Awards, back in February. Even then, though, HerpAlert received a grand total of 60 inquiries.

Coachella photos have been all over Instagram lately, and 19-year-old Byron Denton set out to prove that not everything you see on social media is exactly what it seems.
The London-based YouTuber previously fooled the internet by faking a rich lifestyle on Instagram, and he recently set his sights on faking a weekend at Coachella.
