The former No. 1 album is back in the top 10 after more than 29 years. Guns N’ Roses’ classic 1987 debut album, Appetite for Destruction, returns to the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart after more than 29 years. The former No. 1 re-enters the tally (dated July 14) at No. 10, following its deluxe remastered reissue on June 29. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). As of this week, each unit equals one traditional album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from one album (a TEA unit), or 1,250 paid subscription on-demand audio song streams from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported on-demand audio song streams from an album (an SEA unit). (The weighting of an SEA unit was updated with the July 14-dated charts.) The new July 14-dated chart -- where Appetite jumps back on at No. 10 -- will be posted in full on Billboard's websites on Tuesday, July 10.

In a recent interview with Guitar.com, Slash spoke about what it felt like for him to step back out on stage with GUNS N' ROSES for the first time in over two decades at the band's April 2016 concert at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, California. "Oh man, it was overwhelming — it was so cool," Slash said. "Because it was a long time — we're talking more than 20 years from the last show in 1994… it was 22 years since the last time we'd played together. And obviously I'd played with [bassist] Duff [McKagan] [since then] but there's a certain dynamic in the three of us together. It was awesome, and it's a really great experience." GUNS N' ROSES' "Not In This Lifetime" tour features classic lineup members Slash, McKagan and singer Axl Rose backed by guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and second keyboardist Melissa Reese. Both Slash and Fortus have said in recent interviews that there is material in the works for a new GUNS album, which would be the first under the band's name since 2008's "Chinese Democracy". The last collection of original music to feature Axl, Slash and McKagan was 1991's "Use Your Illusion" albums, and the last LP of any kind to feature the three was the 1993 covers set "The Spaghetti Incident?" Last month, McKagan told satellite radio program "Trunk Nation" that he "heard some magnificent stuff that Axl has — really cool stuff he'd been working on" for GUNS' next record. "So I'm excited about the possibilities with that, of course. I don't mean to get anybody rabid. A new album will happen when it happens, that's for sure."

Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming solo effort, Tenderness, followed by a North American tour to support it. According to a recent interview he did with SiriusXM's Volume, the album covers several social topics like the opioid epidemic, tragic shootings and sexual assault. McKagan believes that speaking out on public issues is "what we're supposed to do." People in the public eye, particularly celebrities, have an advantage in the sense that whatever they say will reach a large audience. McKagan cites musicians as well as athletes as figures who should use their popularity to their advantage when it comes to spreading awareness and giving their opinions on certain matters. McKagan's Tenderness is a collection of songs inspired by what he saw over the last few years on his travels around the world with Guns N' Roses. The title track was released in February. Produced by Shooter Jennings, the album will be out May 31, and the two will hit the road together with The Suicide Horn Section to support it. While Steven Adler did do a few guest performances with Guns N’ Roses in 2016, but Izzy Stradlin never played with the ‘Not In This Lifetime’ Guns N’ Roses lineup for the Adler performances to complete an original lineup reunion. Duff McKagan told 92.9 The Bear in a new interview, “I will tell you this: Things are very positive in our camp and they started that way and they remain so, if not more. But in classic Guns N’ Roses fashion, I will tell you nothing.” Duff said regarding Izzy Stradlin possibly playing with Guns N’ Roses again, “That is something that we tried to make happen at the beginning. It just didn’t work out.” Izzy said last year that he and Guns N’ Roses were unable “to reach a happy middle ground through the negotiation process.” Axl Rose told Brazil’s Globo TV in 2016 about Stradlin, “I don’t really know what to say about Izzy. It’s like you could have a conversation and think it’s one way and the next day it’s another way. And I’m not trying to take any shots at Izzy. It’s just his thing is kind of his thing, whatever that is.”
