Avril Lavigne kicked off the week with a new music video for "I Fell in Love With the Devil," out Monday (July 15). The video for the track, off of her Head Above Water album, premiered at 12 p.m. ET. The clip, which features major emo vibes, sees Lavigne rocking various elaborate outfits in different dramatic landscapes, such as a graveyard.  The singer first teased fans with a handful of posts on social media over the weekend -- some with images presumably from the video and others with lyrics from the song -- all linking to her YouTube page. |

Avril Lavigne has released a dark and ghastly video for her immensely cathartic song, "I Fell in Love With the Devil." While her tune is emotional and personal, the video takes the concept to the extreme, providing a spooky companion that sits with you well after it ends. If you fell in love with Lucifer, what do you think would happen? It couldn't possibly be what's in here. The video for "I Fell in Love With the Devil" feels luscious and intimate, like we're not supposed to be seeing what we are. Lavigne drives a hearse with the body of an innocent woman – also played by her – clad in white, most likely to symbolize innocence.  We then see Lavigne again, seduced by Lucifer's full beard and slick hair. She plays the piano in dark skies, clad in a blood red dress. She also holds a black cross with sinister, evil eyes.  Loving Lucifer drains you of your humanity and makes you a shade of your human self. It's a powerful statement and compelling addition to her narrative, being able to see how she feels about her life's situations from an artistic standpoint.  |

If there's been one thing Avril Lavigne has proved she's seriously dedicated to over the years — aside from her music career, of course — it's her signature smoky eye. Lavigne's love for smoky kohl eyeliner runs deep, and it's managed to stand the test of time, too. Not only is the music itself moody and full of the singer's usual drama, but her makeup is uncannily similar to how she wore it all throughout the 2000s. The only difference is that this time around, it appears slightly more modern and elevated. For instance, her eyeliner is definitely less messy than it used to be, and she's even wearing false lashes, which was a rare move for the rockstar earlier in her career. What's more, in a few of the scenes, she's seen wearing a bold red lip, which gives the overall look a subtle "Old Hollywood" feel. |

Avril Lavigne’s “I Fell in Love With the Devil” is her latest hit, and it’s already racked up more than 8 million YouTube views to date. It is produced by Chris Baseford and Avril Lavigne herself and appears on Avril’s sixth studio album Head Above Water. On the track, Avril Lavigne sings about ending a toxic relationship.
