Chelle performs Billie Eilish's "idontwannabeyouanymore" during The Voice Blind Auditions. Last season was a big one for The Voice. Not only because Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were reunited on the show. But Taylor Swift also helped out the teams as a mega mentor. Season 18 will get another artist to fill the role and here is everything you need to know. Taylor Swift was a mega mentor for the Knockouts last season Season 17 had Taylor Swift return to the show. She helped the artists for the Knockouts and her role got a new name. “I wanted to come on the show because when I was here before I had a really good time,” she said on the show. “The one thing that’s really cool is that I was in that position. Not on a television show, but you have to put yourself out there so many times in this line of work.” The name of her role was a mega mentor. She joked about it with, “That’s really gonna go straight to me head.” http://instagram.com/p/B81Uve9hPD0 We have another impressive list of battle advisors this season. Kevin and Joe Jonas will be advisors for their brother’s team. John Legend will have Ella Mai, Kelly Clarkson will have Dua Lipa, and Blake Shelton will have Bebe Rexha. Clarkson tweeted her excitement after the announcement. “I’m almost upset that you’re so lovely plus you’re super hot Thank you for caring about these artists and really listening and being present with them! You’re not just super talented, you’re a rad human also, still listening to #DontStartNow on repeat like a stalker,” the coach tweeted.

Kelly Clarkson is ready for the latest season of The Voice, and she’s made sure everyone knows it. Instead of hazing Nick Jonas like the other coaches, or using bribery like Blake Shelton, Kelly shook things up by debuting a bold look. She ditched her classic long locks in favor of an edgy bob and colorful makeup. Regardless of who managed to score the best singers this week, there's no doubt that Kelly absolutely crushed it with her fierce style.

Some Voice auditions supposedly break the internet. I’m not sure if Samuel Wilco’s cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Lately” did exactly that on Monday, but it was apparently strong enough to break the show’s famous hydraulic red thrones.
After coaches Kelly Clarkson and Nick Jonas turned for Samuel and jumped to their feet, their chairs seeming short-circuited from the impact of their sheer excitement and abruptly pivoted backwards — while poor, teetering Kelly clung to the armrests for dear life. “Quit messing with me! I’m in heels!” she shouted, as a production assistant rushed to her aid.
Once the chairs’ hilarious malfunction was addressed, it was time for Kelly and Nick to go to battle over this 39-year-old Army veteran. While Samuel’s performance of the Stevie song was old-fashioned and restrained, he showcased a sublime, supple, and smooth tone, and both coaches were impressed.
I thought Kelly had this one in the bag when she revealed that “Lately” would be her audition song if she ever tried out for The Voice. (Fun fact: For her 2002 American Idol audition, which didn’t even air initially, Kelly sang Etta James’s “At Last,” followed by Madonna’s “Express Yourself.” Why didn’t she ever do “Lately” on that show?) But Sam’s a good dad, so he went with Nick, because his kids are JoBros fans. That was when Kelly really felt like she’d been “messed with.”
Samuel, who’s served his country since age 18 and has been deployed to Kuwait three times, is retiring from the Armed Forces next year and now realizes that music is his late-in-life calling. I’m not sure how far he can go on The Voice, but he definitely deserves this chance. Hopefully Nick will do right by Samuel, although I’m not sure why the most obvious coach choice, John Legend — who actually had Stevie Wonder perform at his wedding to Chrissy Teigen — didn’t turn around. Maybe John’s chair was malfunctioning as well?

Kelly Clarkson nearly got knocked to the floor during an episode of “The Voice” this week when her motorized chair abruptly began rotating.
The singer and co-host of the NBC reality show had slammed her button to approve competitor Samuel Wilco’s audition for the competition with a moving performance of Stevie Wonder’s “Lately.”
Co-host Nick Jonas also pressed his button, and turned his powered chair so that both he and Clarkson faced the stage when Wilco’s performance ended. As the two judges stood on the base of their chairs and clapped, the motorized contraptions whipped back around, nearly sending Clarkson flying.
To Clarkson’s dismay, Wilco ― spoiler alert! ― ends up choosing Jonas as his coach for the singing competition, so her chair scare was basically for nothing.
Still, Clarkson remained chipper, showing the kind of energy we all need to adopt when things go awry. Never change, Kelly.
