Grace VanderWaal loves you but doesn’t like you on new song “I Don’t Like You.” The singer-songwriter wrapped her Ur So Beautiful Tour late last month.
On “I Don’t Like You,” VanderWaal details the dueling emotions she feels for her partner, especially as fights and insecurities threaten to tear them apart. She decides that it’s best that they call things off, especially since they keep repeating the same breakup/makeup cycle. “We both refuse to lose/We both refuse to choose the higher road,” she sings on the chorus.
VanderWaal has released a couple of new songs this year, including “Ur So Beautiful” and “Waste My Time. In June, she opened for Florence + the Machine on their High As Hope tour. She released her debut album, Just the Beginning, in 2017 but has not revealed if the new singles from 2019 are part of a longer project. In 2020, she will make her acting debut in Disney’s adaptation of Stargirl.

Grace VanderWaal is growing up right in front of our eyes. And that fact is coming across on her musical releases. She launched a new era with “Stray” earlier this year. The song finds the talented teen (she’s only 15-years-old?!) contemplating the reality of growing up with a sense of wisdom and wistfulness beyond her years. Subsequent releases have only gotten more insightful. Take “Waste My Time” for example. On it, she is determined to enjoy even a fleeting moment in a relationship. However, her latest song (“I Don’t Like You”) uncovers what happens when things go sour. Out today (October 18), it finds the “Ur So Beautiful” hitmaker detailing a relationship fraught with tension. “Here we go again in the same story. We fellow the routine until we say ‘I’m sorry,'” Grace sings with weary resignation. If you think that’s frank, then you’re in for a surprise when she hits the chorus. “I love you, but I don’t like you. The simple truth is I can’t do this, though I try to,” she laments. Although ending things would make sense, there’s one small problem. Neither seems capable of fully cutting the cord. Who hasn’t been there? Clever and very catchy, it’s yet another gem from the hitmaker this year.

http://instagram.com/p/B3vtBi_DMrY Grace VanderWaal first caught fans' attention after winning America's Got Talent in 2016 with her original songs, great talent, and ukulele playing, and she's never quite left the spotlight. Now, Grace is a full-on star, and if her Instagram account is anything to go by, she's way cooler than we've ever been. She shares so many artsy photos from tour and behind-the-scenes snaps that show off the life of a musician. http://instagram.com/p/B3e-tSJDL1s Plus, the singer likes to keep things light and fun, so she mixes in funny solo snaps (usually in the form of funky mirror selfies) and shows off her love of pizza on a regular basis. Oh, and her style makes us feel like we're living in a retro, thrift-shopping dream world that you must check out. See the star's best 'grams now and get a taste of what life is like for the ultrastylish and goofy gal in the process. http://instagram.com/p/BlTTt-SA5A0

Grace VanderWaal performs her new single “I Don’t Like You” and answers a few questions from fans including if she’s met Ariana Grande.
In the latest episode of the Billboard video series "Quizzed," Zooey Deschanel visits New Girl superfan Grace VanderWaal at her soundcheck to test her knowledge when it comes to trivia related to all things Jessica Day & Co. to find out if she is, in fact, the world’s biggest New Girl fan.
Sitting at a table on the stage at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, Deschanel and VanderWaal are surrounded by props from the show that any New Girl fan would love to get their hands on, including some knitting, Jess Day’s glasses, and that adorable sparkly tiny hat that she wore (and VanderWaal gets to wear the glasses and the hat for the duration of the episode).

If you like Grace VanderWaal, get ready to absolutely love her. The 15-year-old singer-songwriter — who got her start by winning Season 11 of America's Got Talent in 2016 — just dropped the music video for her new single "I Don't Like You" today (November 12). And if you're someone who truly loves their significant other but doesn't always like them, well, this one's for you. From the start, VanderWaal's video perfectly represents the chaos, confusion, and anger we often feel in relationships, particularly ones inundated with stubbornness, bickering, and constant arguments. In a style reminiscent of Sia's best videos, VanderWaal dances aimlessly about as she ponders whether or not the relationship is even worth fighting for. Wise beyond her years, VanderWaal shows that this video is more than just a form of expression for the teenager, but a careful cultivation of the type of artist she'd like to be known as in the future. http://instagram.com/p/B4yeyrvjtEW
