Men's Team Final | Tokyo Replays
This was the moment Artur Dalaloyan and Nikita Nagornyy had been waiting for, and nothing - not even a torn Achilles tendon in April nor a global pandemic - was going to keep them from it.
ROC won its first Olympic men's team gold medal since the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games on the backs of the duo that has dominated the sport for three years. They totaled 262.500 to hold of hosts Japan. China was third at 261.894.
The gold medal in the men's team final came down to what they could do on the floor exercise. Dalaloyan, who wasn't even sure he would compete on floor exercise three days ago, delivered a solid routine only months after his major injury.
Japan was solid all the way through competition, bettering their total from qualifying. It was not enough, however, against a surging ROC team.

Women's Vault Final | Tokyo Replays
Days after taking all-around silver, 22-year-old Rebeca Andrade became the first Brazilian woman to win artistic gymnastics gold! Andrade never gave up hope. Not when she tore her ACL, a third time, at the 2019 Brazilian Nationals. Not when the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games were pushed a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Not ever.
Andrade came to Tokyo looking strong, debuting a Cheng vault (round off on the board, half turn on the vaulting table, front one-and-a-half twist) during the qualifying rounds. In the apparatus final, Andrade brought back her difficult two-and-a-half twisting vault to win gold.
Having already won the silver medal in the all-around, close behind USA's Suni Lee. She now owns the only two Olympic medals in women's gymnastics for Brazil. Arthur Zanetti is the only other Brazilian to win artistic gymnastics gold.
