Following a week’s worth of dramatic impeachment hearings, conservative co-host Meghan McCain lashed out at her View colleagues on Friday over Republican belief that President Trump did not commit an impeachable offense—specifically getting into a heated, personal clash with co-host Sunny Hostin.
After McCain pointed out that retiring Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX) said that he has not heard evidence proving Trump committed bribery or extortion, liberal co-host and frequent sparring partner Joy Behar wondered aloud whether Hurd was “deaf” since “we all heard it.”
This prompted McCain to grumble that Democrats had “gotten out over their skis” so many times with Trump that there’s now a problem of distrust for conservatives like here when it comes to impeachment.
“Can I say one thing—what about the Constitution? Isn’t that the bottom line?” Behar asked.
“I have a copy of the Constitution on my nightstand,” the daughter of John McCain shot back. “Please don’t talk to me about the Constitution.”

Don’t expect to see the women of The View at a matinee showing of Cats. On Tuesday morning, the co-hosts tore into the latest trailer for the adaptation, which hits theaters everywhere on December 20. While Sunny Hostin is jazzed for the Cats remake, her co-hosts felt differently, and they didn’t mince words as they described the “weird and creepy” trailer. As Meghan McCain put it, “Why do the cats have breasts?” It’s a valid question.
After making it through the day’s political stories, The View‘s co-hosts turned to the biggest pop culture story of the month: Cats, baby. After Behar, filling in as moderator, played a clip of the new musical adaptation, the panel wasn’t quite sure how to feel. “I coughed up a hairball just watching it,” said Behar. “People think it’s a horror movie, but it’s just a musical.”
“Why do the cats have breasts? I don’t understand it,” replied a very unnerved Meghan McCain. She added that the CGI animals are “ridiculous,” and Abby Huntsman agreed, even though she loves musicals. “It looks a little weird and creepy,” she said.
“I’ve never done drugs, but I imagine that’s probably what it looks like,” added McCain, earning a round of laughs from the audience.

Meghan McCain has mixed feelings about Time’s choice for Person of the Year.
Yes, she “disagrees” with Time magazine’s decision to put 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg on its Person of the Year cover. But, no, she will not “attack” a child, especially not when she has previously said it’s inappropriate to drag 13-year-old Barron Trump into critiques of his father.
“I don't put a lot of clout into the Time Person of the Year,” McCain said when the topic came up on The View Thursday morning. “Keep in mind, Hitler and the Ayatollah were also the Person of the Year.”
She went on to explain that she thinks the Ukraine whistleblower, who was named among the Guardians of the Year, would have been a “more salient and timely choice.”
“It’s hard for me to talk about Greta Thunberg because she’s 16, and I still don’t believe in attacking underaged people,” McCain continued. “I disagree with her, I think everyone knows how I feel about climate change as religion on the left, but I’m not going to attack a 16-year-old in the same way I don't agree with attacking Barron Trump.”

Charlize Theron was a guest on The View to talk about her new movie Bombshell. This particular film is important as it tackles the issue of women sexually harassed in the workplace. The South African actress plays Megyn Kelly and was extremely involved in constructing the character.
Theron is so passionate about her role in the Jay Roach-directed film that she talked in length about her experience shooting it. At one moment Goldberg was seen flailing her arms as Theron continued speaking.
This is where Theron gave a class act on how to handle being cut off from talking. It was obvious that Goldberg had to respect the set times the live show has and had to cut to commercial break. Theron understood that and instead of making a big fuss about it, like McCain usually does, she apologized.
“Sorry Whoopi, go!” Theron told Goldberg.
There was no drama, no one got upset, and no one yelled. Theron knows exactly how a live television show works. She also knew that Goldberg is the authoritative figure on the panel and respected her time to shoot to a break.
