Whoopi Goldberg and Meghan McCain starred in a major moment on The View last week. As the ladies were debating about a political issue, the moderator of the talk show snapped at McCain for continuing to interrupt. Following the episode airing, social media exploded with talk about how Goldberg shut down the conservative co-host. Some viewers believed Goldberg was out of line and should be released from the show but is her job really at risk? http://instagram.com/p/B6Twzb1FWLk After the ABC daytime program went to a commercial break a producer approached the “Hot Topics” table according to Page Six. “Producers did come out and prep them for the next segment and explained, ‘We still have more show to do.’ One of the producers specifically talked to Meghan,” a source told the publication. http://instagram.com/p/B6TMQzbHanl “Nobody sets out to be rude … it’s not the desired goal,” the source added. The View is known for this type of outbursts that tend to go viral. As moderator of the show, Goldberg is given the liberty to take a break to ease the tension at the table. It was not the first time the comedian sends to commercial after the co-hosts spar. http://instagram.com/p/B6RNTblAVAT It’s not likely that Goldberg will lose her job over this incident as her offense does not merit getting fired.

Meghan McCain and her sparring partner Joy Behar If there’s a co-host that McCain constantly clashes with, that lady is Joy Behar. The comedian and the Republican pundit are usually at odds with each other as they fall on opposite sides of the political spectrum. Although many believe they do not have a good relationship off the set, they have proven everyone wrong. http://instagram.com/p/B4fgL9jHtpk “It really hurts my feelings!” McCain said in an interview with ET of feuding rumors with Behar. “It genuinely hurts my feelings because our dressing rooms are next door to each other and you and I have the same emotional reaction to things — sometimes in different ways — but we’re both upset equally, the equal amount of the same things. And I wish people would give us a break, for real.” http://instagram.com/p/B5LET51nfFA “We’re both becoming a little bit more, um, not moderate, but we’ve sort of become… Like, we’re not so adamant about our positions,” Behar said in the same interview. “Like today, I was talking about how, you know, I think a moderate needs to win the election to beat [President Donald] Trump. Originally, I would say I wanted Elizabeth Warren because she was new stuff and she was exciting. But I’m not sure that she could pull it off. So, now I’m in reality again and I think you have changed your positions a little bit, moderated them, modified.”

Meghan McCain‘s relationship with her View co-hosts is at a breaking point. According to our friends at Page Six, McCain has become an outcast on The View now that she has finally alienated her last remaining ally, fellow conservative and former Fox & Friends host Abby Huntsman. Sources close to the situation report that the duo’s “friendship has soured” because of McCain’s “rude and dismissive” behavior, which has begun to affect everyone on set, even guests and audience members. According to Page Six’s Carlos Greer, McCain and Huntsman’s relationship took a turn for the worse before the holidays. “They aren’t speaking to each other,” an insider told Page Six. “It’s been about a month. None of the ladies talk to Meghan now. Abby was the last woman standing. It’s bad. Meghan’s so rude.” A second source added that “Abby tolerates Meghan, but she doesn’t genuinely like her. Their friendship has soured.” Others close to the situation reportedly echoed that sentiment, saying that McCain is “rude and dismissive” to her co-hosts and the show’s guests and acts “very self-important” on set. The off-camera tension has been apparent since The View returned from its holiday hiatus on January 6. On Tuesday — just a few minutes before McCain and Democratic candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren butted heads over Iran — the conservative firebrand sparred with Huntsman during a discussion about John Bolton, who recently announced that he’s willing to testify in the impeachment hearings. Huntsman praised Bolton’s decision, saying that his “conscience” encouraged him to do “what he thinks is right, not what politically he believes or doesn’t believe.” McCain vehemently disagreed, arguing that Bolton is making political moves to stir “regime change wars” around the globe. “The idea that he just went home and grew a conscience is like — maybe I’ve just been in politics too long,” she said. “Well, I’ve also been in politics in my upbringing, too,” fired back Huntsman. “And a lot of people have been around politics or know politics, whether you have family in it or not. This show’s about opinions. My opinion is that I think he’s someone that has seen a lot and knows a lot that has happened in that White House … It seems like he wants people to know what went on.”

Abby Huntsman left The View with a bang. At the beginning of the week, the conservative co-host announced she was leaving the talk show. The news of her departure came after numerous reports claimed she was feuding with Meghan McCain. On her very last day on the panel, Huntsman made a bold move and addressed the rumors.
“People go nuts with rumors on this show and this week has been no exception,” Huntsman said during her farewell, “I just want to be as clear as I possibly can, this has been a dream come true, this has been an incredible job, I do love everyone at this table.”
Reports suggested Huntsman and McCain had a fallout over the last month. Another reported claimed the Utah native had raised questions about the toxic work environment.
“You guys see the ups and downs of all of our life, Meghan has been … you’ve seen what she’s been through in her life… you guys live it with us. It’s not easy everyone to come out here and be so open and honest and talk about the hardest topics of the day. I have so much respect for everyone at this table and for everyone at this show,” she added.
Joy Behar quipped saying, “you could always change your mind.”
“I just want to make it as clear as day, with everything that has been written about this place. I am leaving so thankful for all the new friends that I have here, for the friends I had before and still have and for the opportunity because this place has changed my life for the better,” Huntsman ended.
