When the No Judgement hitmaker spoke with RTE Entertainment this week, Niall gave One Direction fans the hope they needed by confirming that he wants a reunion to happen. "We'd be absolutely ridiculous not to reform the band. We haven’t really spoken about the ‘when's' but we do know we will," he confessed. "We have all said individually that we will and I think it would be stupid if we didn’t." Niall went on to say that he doesn't have any regrets when it comes to his time in One Direction, and added, "We had a great time and we’ll have an even better time when we do it again.” Fans Shouldn't Expect The Band To Get Back Together Too Soon Over the past year, both Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne have echoed Niall's belief that One Direction should reunite sometime in the future. However, neither singer thinks that fans should hold their breath waiting. “I’m only just getting round to releasing my first album. Fans who follow our every move every day probably feel we’ve not been a group for a while, but to us we're… I know I am just finding my feet really," Louis told The One Show in January. "I think it’ll happen at some point, we’d be stupid not to. I think we’re kind of exploring and enjoying ourselves individually.” “All I can say is, through album cycles and single cycles, I see everybody putting songs out at the moment, I don’t think for at least the next two years it’s going to happen," Liam said on The Jonathon Ross Show last October. The former One Direction members make sure to support each other's solo careers, and when Harry dropped his new album Fine Line, Niall made sure to give his friend and former bandmate plenty of praise. “Really good. It’s very very good. It’s very Harry. It’s very… the music that he and I would listen to,” Niall said on Capital FM. “I texted him when it came out, ‘All your influences are there, you’ve just smashed it, nailed it.’”

One Direction’s 2016 hiatus always looked inevitable following Zayn Malik’s departure from the pop group the previous year. Four years on from the boyband’s decision to go their separate ways, things remain largely cordial between the four 1D members who stuck with it until the end. However, relations between Zayn and the rest of the band aren’t quite as rosy. Niall Horan has revealed in a new interview that he and Zayn had ‘a falling out’ a few years ago. ‘As long as I’ve known him, Zayn’s been the hardest man to stay in touch with,’ Niall explained to GQ. ‘Then we had a falling out a few years ago and, to be honest, that’s just the dynamic: you have people you are friends with and people you are not.’ While it’s been well-documented that Zayn doesn’t speak to any of his former bandmates anymore, Niall went on to disclose that he, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne try to see each other when they can. ‘We don’t get to see each other as much as we’d like to, but we try. I talk to Louis a lot. ‘It’s the lads with the kids that you try to keep in touch with especially, just to see how they are.’ Niall is now gearing up to release his new solo album Heartbreak Weather this Friday (13 March), which is the follow-up to his 2017 debut Flicker. Meanwhile, all of his former bandmates have now released solo albums, with Liam and Louis both releasing their first albums over the past few months, while both Harry and Zayn have released their sophomore efforts.

Niall Horan described One Direction co-star Zayn Malik as "the hardest man to stay in touch with" while addressing their fallout. Niall Horan has opened up about falling out with former One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik in an interview with GQ, admitting they remain on frosty terms until this day. It's the first time the 'Nice To Meet Ya' singer has spoken so candidly about a feud during their band days, admitting he speaks to the other boys but not the 'Let Me' singer. The 26-year-old said: "As long as I’ve known him, Zayn’s been the hardest man to stay in touch with." "Then we had a falling out a few years ago and, to be honest, that’s just the dynamic: you have people you are friends with and people you are not. "We don’t get to see each other as much as we’d like to, but we try. I talk to Louis a lot. "It’s the lads with the kids that you try to keep in touch with especially, just to see how they are.”

One Direction began their hiatus four years ago following the departure of Zayn Malik. But despite each of the five members — Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan — launching their solo careers, fans are absolutely convinced this is the year the boyband will reunite. Now, bookies have strengthened that resolve with another price change. Ladbrokes have cut odds on a One Direction happening before the year is out from 1/2 to just 4/9 since the start of the week. With the bookmaker’s indicating the comeback is looking even more likely, is there a chance 1D fans could finally get their wish? Earlier this week, Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati told Express.co.uk: “One Direction are far from History if the latest odds are anything to go by, with a 2020 reunion being the One Thing fans can seemingly look forward to this year.” The bookies’ move comes as former One Direction star Styles has revealed he’s recording new music after news he was writing again amid the coronavirus lockdown. The Falling hitmaker, who released his second solo album back in December, is currently stuck in California, unable to fly home due to the isolation and lockdown measures put in place to suppress the spread of COVID-19. Having recently said he was using the time to compose new music, Styles told Dermot O’Leary he had also been recording during an interview on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this week. Opening up about how he was coping with the lockdown, he said: “I’ve worked here a lot so I have friends here and stuff, and I’m lucky enough to be quarantining with a couple of friends.
