Taylor Swift - Lover (First Dance Remix) After some controversy leading up to the AMAs, Taylor Swift took the stage at the awards show and performed a medley of her hits, past and present. One of the highlights was “Lover,” which was performed with a new string-boosted arrangement. It was a fresh and stirring take on the song, and now Swift has shared a new remix of the track, based on the arrangement from that performance. The “First Dance Remix” gives Swift fans the perfect wedding song that was literally made for an emotional first dance. The song already had some strong wedding vibes, with lyrics like, “Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand? / With every guitar string scar on my hand / I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover.” In a recent interview, Swift spoke about the creative freedom she had while making Lover, saying, “In my previous situation, there were creative constraints, issues that we had over the years. […] When someone just looks at you and says ‘Yes, you deserve what you want’, after a decade or more of being told, ‘I’m not sure you deserve what you want’ — there’s a freedom that comes with that. It’s like when people find ‘the one,’ they’re like, ‘It was easy, I just knew and I felt free’. And that made me feel I could make an album that was exactly what I wanted to make.”

On Wednesday, Joe Jonas treated his Instagram followers to a cool cover of his ex Taylor Swift's song "Lover." In a quick Instagram Story, the Jonas Brothers singer serenaded brother Nick Jonas and put a hilarious spin on the chorus.
Zooming in on his unsuspecting younger bro during their flight, Joe sang, "My, my, my…brother." Paying the 30-year-old no mind, Nick continued scrolling through his phone.
Joe isn't the first of Taylor's famous exes to cover the hit song. Last month, John Mayer performed a parody of it on his Instagram Live talk show Current Mood. Like Joe, the "Body Is A Wonderland" singer also changed up the lyrics a bit.
While chatting with his guest Shawn Mendes, who appears on the "Lover" remix, John admitted that he leaves his Christmas lights up until January as Taylor does in the song. Then, he broke into song.

"Vote for 'Lover,'" the ad implores, "…Because this decade's most prolific songwriter has never won Grammy's song of the year." Taylor Swift's camp came up with a clever tagline in an ad it ran Tuesday (Dec. 10) in a Grammy-themed edition of the Los Angeles Times' The Envelope section. While Swift has three Grammy nominations this year, Republic Records' ad focuses entirely on Swift's song of the year nomination: "Vote for 'Lover,'" the ad implored, "…Because this decade's most prolific songwriter has never won Grammy's song of the year." It's an interesting approach to remind Grammy voters that Swift -- who has won enough awards to fill a museum -- has never won one particular award, the Grammy for song of the year. This is her fourth nomination in that category. Will the approach work? We'll find out on Jan. 26, when the 62nd annual Grammy Awards are presented at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The ad doesn't get into this, but in this era of songwriting by committee, "Lover" is vying to become the first song of the year winner in 12 years that was written by just one songwriter. The last song written by just one songwriter to win the top prize was Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" (2007).
