The 2020 Grammys will take place on Sunday, January 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. As always, the full slate of Grammy performances includes nominees and other acts. In recent weeks, the Recording Academy has announced solo performances, group renditions, and tributes to artists (like Prince and John Prine) and Grammy personnel (like the award show producer Ken Ehrlich, who retires this year). Here is the full list of performers at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards, which you can watch on CBS on January 26 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Billie Eilish Music wunderkind Billie Eilish is up for six Grammy Awards this year, including the Big Four (Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist). Riding the massive success of her debut album When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, Eilish is bringing her signature brand of ASMR-pop the Staples Center. Lizzo Lizzo had a glorious 2019, one in which she charted on the Billboard 200 for the first time (with Cuz I Love You) and had a single from 2017 (!) top the Billboard singles chart. She’s up for eight trophies, the most nominations of any artist this year, including the Big Four. Her live shows include everything from dancing to rapping to flute-playing, so she’s sure to be among the night’s most explosive performances. Ariana Grande A year ago, following a Grammy nomination for her album Sweetener, Ariana Grande was asked to perform during the televised ceremony. Alas, she pulled out of the show after a disagreement with Grammy producers over being allowed to perform her thank u, next single “7 rings.” Now, with that song up for two Grammys in 2020 (Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance), Grande will return to the Grammys stage. Camila Cabello, Gary Clark Jr., John Legend, Debbie Allen, Joshua Bell, Common, Misty Copeland, Lang Lang, Cyndi Lauper, Ben Platt, and the War and Treaty (tribute to Ken Ehrlich) This year’s Grammy Awards will be the final one for longtime producer Ken Ehrlich, who announced his retirement last summer. In tribute to the producer—who’s tussled with numerous artists in years past, including Ariana, Frank Ocean, and Lorde—the Recording Academy has assembled a star-studded crew to perform a rendition of “I Sing the Body Electric,” from the 1980 musical film Fame. Gary Clark Jr. and the Roots As well as performing in the ensemble piece, Clark Jr. will join forces with the Roots to play his song “This Land,” which is nominated for Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song, and Best Music Video. H.E.R. Grammy darling H.E.R. returns to perform for the second year in a row, following her five nominations (including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year). Exact details on her performance are scarce, but if last year’s show is any indication, it’ll showcase her immense voice. Demi Lovato Demi Lovato hasn’t performed live since she was hospitalized following a drug overdose in 2018. Her 2020 Grammys performance will mark her return to the stage. She’ll reportedly perform an unreleased song that she wrote shortly before that overdose took place.

Taylor Swift's surprise Grammys 2020 performance is no longer happening. The singer has pulled out of it, multiple sources told Variety this afternoon. Her exit will not create problems for the show, the outlet noted, as she hadn't been announced, and the Grammys has many performers already lined up.
Entertainment Tonight went one further than Variety and reported that Swift won't be attending the Grammys at all. Swift has three nominations: for Song of the Year ("Lover"), Best Solo Performance ("You Need to Calm Down"), and Best Pop Vocal Album (Lover).
Swift has not commented on this news, and the exact reasoning behind her exit from the show is not clear. The singer was last seen in Park City at the Sundance premiere of Miss Americana on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, the Recording Academy, which oversees the Grammy Awards, is in the midst of a scandal that has dominated headlines this week and tainted the show itself. Recording Academy CEO Deborah Dugan filed a charge of discrimination with the Los Angeles office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on January 21, days after she was placed on administrative leave on January 16. Dugan had been brought into the role in May 2019, taking over for Neil Portnow.

The Grammys controversy made it even more apparent What’s more, Swift really believes in the message of her song. This became very apparent on Jan. 24, 2020. This was the day after her documentary premiered, the day “The Man” was essentially confirmed as a single, and the day the artist was revealed to not be attending the Grammys just a few days later. Why isn’t Swift going? There are a number of possibilities, but according to Variety, it could have something to do with talk of sexism at the awards show made by recently ousted CEO Deborah Dugan. Swift was even thought to be performing “The Man” on that stage. Clearly, the singer wants to stand behind her song and its significant lyrics, so what better time to release it as a single? The pop star’s decision to skip the 62nd annual ceremony may not come as a surprise to fans, as she was snubbed of nominations in most of the evening’s top categories. When the Recording Academy announced this year’s list of nominees last fall, Swift only appeared three times: Her seventh studio release, Lover, is up for Best Pop Vocal Album, while “You Need to Calm Down” and the title track are nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year, respectively. Lover did not, however, receive a nomination for Album of the Year, nor were any of its songs recognized for Record of the Year. The Cats actress’ last awards show performance took place in November 2019, when she hit the stage at the American Music Awards for a medley of her greatest hits. Her road to the AMAs was not an easy one, as she claimed days earlier that Big Machine Records executives Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun had attempted to block her from doing her old songs after she left the label in 2018.

Taylor Swift is reportedly missing this year's Grammy Awards...and she's nominated! See which artists probably won't be in attendance. Surprise! Taylor Swift was supposed to perform at the Grammys … and now she’s not. The international pop star backed out of her Grammy Awards slot on Sunday night, according to Variety, even though she was never officially confirmed to appear. Hopes were high for Swift to perform, and rehearsal schedules included a "TBA" slot, with speculation mounting that it would be hers. But after ousted Recording Academy CEO Deborah Duga claimed the show is rigged and full of conflicts of interest, all signs reportedly point to Swift attempting to avoid the drama. Had she performed her feminist hit “The Man,” as reports indicated, the moment would have been even more awkward. Refinery 29 reported that Swift's pulling out might actually be a statement in support of Dugan's outcry.

This is the singer’s third pro-Trump fashion statement at the music awards show; she notified the White House that she would wear “something to be supportive.” Known for making political style statements on the red carpet, singer-songwriter Joy Villa turned up at the 62nd Grammy Awards in Los Angeles wearing a gown in support of President Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign. This is her third showing of support for Trump on the red carpet. The gown has the phrase “Trump 2020” in white crystal lettering running down the front of the bodice and the words “Impeached and Re-Elected” on the back. Both the gown and Villa’s white coat with cape sleeves, crafted of surplus white mesh sports fabric that a company donated to designers in Portland, according to the musician, were custom-made by Desi Allinger of Desi Designs. As was her ostrich feather hair accessory. Alinger tells The Hollywood Reporter: “The collar of Joy’s latex dress was inspired by a neckline on a dress by Alexander McQueen, and the coat is inspired by our First Lady [Melania Trump], I just picture her in this. So yah, U.S.A.!”
