Selena Gomez took to social media on Thursday (Jan. 30) to share a behind-the-scenes tease from what appears to be the set of her next music video.
In the snap, the pop star casually flips off the camera from a lush pink velvet chair as a makeup artist retouches her brows. "Wrapped round my finger like a ring," the pop star captioned the post, referencing the lyrics to what Billboard can confirm is her next Rare-era single, "Ring."

While it's unclear whether Gomez was actually shooting a video for the song, "Ring" will follow lead single "Lose You To Love Me," "Look At Her Now" and the self-assured title track as the fourth official single from her long-awaited third solo album.
New year, decade, and music era means a new aesthetic. Selena Gomez was photographed shooting a music video yesterday in downtown Los Angeles, dressed up in a very different look. Her brown hair and bangs were curled and she wore a gold slip dress and knee-high black boots. It's a fun style, although it's unclear at this point which song from Rare she's shooting the video for. She has not announced her next single.
There's a possibility she's working on a music video for "Boyfriend" or one of the spare tracks she recorded but hasn't released yet. Gomez spoke to Jimmy Fallon about the music that didn't make her album, telling him, "There’s a few other songs that I couldn’t help but want to exist [that didn't make the album Rare] so I can’t really tell when, but one of my favorite tracks is called ‘Boyfriend’ so I can’t wait for people to hear that one." She didn't give him any hint of its release date.
In Gomez's WSJ magazine profile, Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels, the songwriters she works with, spoke about "Boyfriend" and how the unreleased single came about.
“Justin and I will go to the studio before [Gomez arrives] and gather ideas,” Michaels said. "I’ll text her to say, ‘What kind of mood are you in?’ One time she responded, ‘I’m feeling strong and happy,’ and then she said at the end of the text: ‘I really just want a boyfriend.’ I thought we should do a song about it. She got to the studio, and it all started flowing together."
