Months after its initial release, Billie Eilish finally dropped the music video for her James Bond theme, "No Time to Die," on Thursday (Oct. 1).
In the moody, black-and-white visual, the pop star stands behind an old-fashioned microphone as she croons the track's haunting lyrics.
"Was I stupid to love you?/ Was I reckless to help?/ Was it obvious to everybody else/ That I'd fallen for a lie?You were never on my side/ Fool me once, fool me twice/ Are you death or paradise?/ Now you'll never see me cry/ There's just no time to die," she sings of a lover's betrayal on the song's creeping chorus. The visual also features footage of scenes taken from the film.
Initially slated for release in April, the 25th installment of the Bond franchise -- also titled No Time to Die -- was one of the first casualties of the summer blockbuster season due to the coronavirus pandemic. The film has since been postponed multiple times, and is currently scheduled for a tentative Nov. 20 release date in theaters across North America.
Since the theme song's February release, Eilish has notched her third Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with one-off single "My Future," which bowed at No. 6 on the chart dated Aug. 14.

Billie Eilish was the musical guest on the most recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she and brother/collaborator FINNEAS performed new James Bond theme ‘No Time to Die’. The brooding, evocative black and white performance coincided with Global James Bond Day – October 5. Watch the performance below: Eilish and her brother also spoke to Fallon ahead of the performance, discussing the creative process behind the song. They also discussed their huge night at this year’s Grammys and the advice Eilish received from Alicia Keys the following day (“Don’t be embarrassed for being dope”.) Watch that below: Last week, Eilish dropped a similarly-styled, Daniel Kleinman-directed music video for ‘No Time to Die’. The visuals intersperse shots of the singer performing in black and white with various clips from the film. Recently, Apple confirmed that a new documentary feature film about Eilish called The World’s a Little Blurry would be arriving in cinemas and on their Apple TV+ streaming platform in February next year. Over the weekend, it was announced that No Time to Die – the 25th instalment of the Bond series – had been delayed for the second time amid uncertainty regarding the coronavirus pandemic. After its original April 2, 2020 release date was pushed back, fans were expecting to be able to see the next instalment in the franchise in the UK on November 12 and in the US on November 20. In a new statement, MGM, Universal and Bond producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara announced that Daniel Craig’s final outing at 007 would be delayed until April 2, 2021 “in order to be seen by a worldwide theatrical audience”.

No information on READYMADE‘s presumed Nike collaboration has yet emerged, but the Japanese brand isn’t resting on its laurels in the meantime. For starters, READYMADE has a new selection of merch following his work for The Weeknd, issuing a pair of T-shirts for pop star Billie Eilish inspired by designer Yuta Hosokawa’s love of hot rod culture. A long- and short-sleeved T-shirt feature airbrush-style graphics on the front and back, each yielding a colorful twist on Ed Roth‘s cartoonish artwork. Each side showcases a different lurid character and stylized recreation of Elish’s name, including one iteration in Japanese Katakana. Eilish’s lyrics are occasionally recreated alongside the other illustrations, which stay true to Roth’s gently horrific “weirdo” creations. The new Billie Eilish goods arrive on ANYTIME’s web store October 10.

There are so many obstacles to overcome when you're tasked with creating the new James Bond original song. First you have to live up to the iconic past moments such as Shirley Bassey's "Goldfinger" and "Diamonds Are Forever" or Adele's "Skyfall." Then (ideally) you try to incorporate the movie's title into your song... somehow.
Finneas had plenty of sympathy for Jack White's "Another Way To Die" tune instead of using the title "Quantum of Solace." And finally, the current Bond, Daniel Craig needs to approve. Big hurdles, but easily surmountable for this crew of musicians. The new team behind James Bond's latest song for "No Time To Die" is made up of the legendary Hans Zimmer, Johnny Marr and current creating sensations Billie Eilish and her brother and writing partner Finneas. The four reconvened at Variety's FYC Fest to break down the song writing process.
