Although the Canadian was a runner-up in the ladies final match, it will've cheered her up to see her namesake in the stands supporting her. Bouchard was named after Princess Eugenie and it's well known her family are royal enthusiasts. Speaking after the match, Bouchard said: "First of all I want to congratulate Petra - she played fantastic for these two weeks. It was really tough for me today but I am proud of how I have played for these two weeks, I love coming back to Wimbledon so thank you guys. I feel like it's a step in the right direction, I 'm not sure I deserve all your love today but I certainly appreciate it." The royal connection could not help 20-year-old Canadian Eugenie Bouchard fulfil her dream of winning the tournament and she lost 6-3, 6-0 to Czech star Petra Kvitova in just 55 minutes. It was the fastest ladies’ final since 1983 , when Martina Navratolova beat Andrea Jaeger. Bouchard said of the Princess : “I’m disappointed I couldn’t put on a better show for her.” Her royalist mum Julie named her after Prince Andrew’s daughter – and she has a twin named after Princess Beatrice. Princess Eugenie arrived at the championship with her boyfriend Jack Brooksbank. The pair have been dating for around four years and Jack is the son of an accountant, educated at £10,000-a-term Stowe school in Buckinghamshire. Eugenie looked summery wearing a pink coloured frock with a beige jacket over her shoulders. Jack, on the other hand, looked suitably smart in a navy suit with a crisp white shirt and blue tie.

Princess Eugenie of York showed off her royal style credentials in London on Tuesday as she wore two stylish outfits. The elegant 24-year-old was first spotted in the afternoon in a simple yet chic blue shift dress for the preview of the Frieze art fair, which she paired with some black ankle boots. Eugenie kept her accessories to a minimum, choosing a leather handbag and completing the look with a silver ring. The young royal was the epitome of an English rose with barely-there make-up, save for some striking black eyeliner and mascara for a perfect laidback chic beauty look. Later that evening, the Princess changed into a different outfit as she headed to a preview of Fabien Baron's Monuments at Sotheby's, hosted by Montcler. Rocking a classic little black dress, Princess Eugenie channelled autumn chic as she added a striking navy blue coat, paired with some black ankle boots. The stylish Princess once again kept her accessories to a minimum, opting simply for a cream and red woven box clutch bag to add a pop of extra colour to her outfit. Currrently working in New York City, Eugenie often jet-sets between the US and the UK, however recently her travels saw her heading to Italy with Prince Harry to celebrate their friend Charlie Gilkes' wedding. The Princess opted for a bright red and orange dress for the nuptials, where she was joined by her boyfriend Jack Brooksbank, as well as other guests including the Duchess of Cambridge's sister Pippa Middleton and their mother Carole Middleton. Virgin Galactic executive Dave has been dating Princess Beatrice for over seven years. The couple met after being introduced by Beatrice's cousin, Prince William, who knew Dave from his time studying at St Andrews University in Scotland. News of an engagement would reportedly be "very welcome" by Beatrice's parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson as they "both like Dave very much".
