In Moscow, the VTB Arena hosted the ice show "The Way to Victory." Two metropolitan figure skating schools took part in it - the Eteri Tutberidze School and the Nina Moser School.
Unfortunately, it was still not a success from the very beginning. The event did not start at the right time, and it was late not for 10 and not 15 minutes, but for 25. Spectators more than once tried to applaud the skaters on the ice, but they did not succeed.
The show was opened by a group of skaters who performed the learned elements separately from each other, there was practically no interaction between them. Probably, fans spoiled by Japanese shows are used to the fact that for such events new dormitory rooms are always specially prepared, bright costumes are sewn. Here, almost all the performances are long-known short or arbitrary programs of athletes that we have seen more than once in competitions.
It is worth noting that there was at least a general idea - all the performances were linked by videos that told how a particular athlete began his journey in figure skating. But sometimes people who had nothing to do with figure skating, whether a singer or a magician, went out on the ice. By the way, judging by the comments on social networks, many were very surprised by the fact that during the performance of the song there was nobody on the ice, although it was very successful to combine two numbers at once.
Not without sad news: Natalya Zabiyako and Alexander Enbert, vice-champions of the Olympic Games in pair skating , announced the end of their sports career during the show. But thanks to the event, we were able to enjoy the last performance of this outstanding Russian couple.
The second part of the show looked indisputably better. The first collective number is a synchronous and well-staged choreography with interesting outfits. The audience was delighted to hear the performances of Alena Kostornaya , Anna Shcherbakova and Alexandra Trusova , who, although they skipped old programs (with the exception of Trusova), were still not afraid and included elements of ultra-si, thanks to which they became known around the world. However, is the risk justified? The World Cup will be held in a month, and once again trying to trixel in the dark arena is somewhat dangerous. Or is this an extra workout for the audience? The question will remain open, since the coaching staff tries not to touch on such topics in an interview.
