Hailee Steinfeld's latest music video is here, and it takes the look of "self-isolation" to a whole new level. On Tuesday (March 31), Haiz shared the gorgeous video for "I Love You's," the Annie Lennox-sampling self-love anthem she released just last week. This is the singer's directorial debut — she co-helmed the clip alongside Sarah McColgan — and it showcases her eye for stark but striking imagery. In the black-and-white clip, Steinfeld commands the spotlight in an array of bold, eye-popping looks; she models everything from a zebra-print bodysuit to a voluminous tulle gown. As she sings about giving herself space to move on from a relationship, we see her throwing punches and essentially breaking herself free from the confines of heartbreak. It all comes to a head in the final scene, when a voice yells "Cut!" and Steinfeld walks away as the set walls break down around her. Freedom, at last. In a statement about the video, Steinfeld broke down the concept of being confined in a room alone, which ties into the song's theme of staying single for the sake of self-care. "I had gone through a break up and felt for the longest time that I was in this confined space," she said. "It took some time but I eventually realized that even in a confined space, you can find yourself, you can learn to love yourself again, and you can give yourself the opportunity to heal. And that's what this song and video mean to me. Eventually the walls can come down and everything will be OK." "I Love You's" is the official kickoff to an as-yet-untitled, two-part project that Steinfeld is readying for release this year. Part 1, which will also include her ballad "Wrong Direction," is set to arrive on May 1. Until then, check out Hailee's latest vid above.

We sat down with singer and actress, Hailee Steinfeld, for #MTVRecess. She gave us the tea on her song 'I Love You's', gave an update on season 2 of her Apple+ series 'Dickinson' and updated us on her new music plans. Every weekday we are going LIVE on MTV Australia Instagram at 10:50am (AEST) for 'Recess' with a new celeb guest. We want to cut through the noise and help you take a break from everything that's going on in the world. Grab your favourite childhood snack and we'll see you in the school yard. The singer makes her directorial debut with the video for her latest single, “I Love You’s," out today. She co-directed the black-and-white clip with Sarah McColgan. The visual features Hailee confined in an empty room by herself as she playfully models various high-fashion outfits, including a poufy tulle skirt, a dress made of ruffles, and a zebra print bodysuit. “I had gone through a break up and felt for the longest time that I was in this confined space,” Hailee, who previously dated Niall Horan, explains in a statement. “It took some time but I eventually realized that even in a confined space, you can find yourself, you can learn to love yourself again, and you can give yourself the opportunity to heal.” “And that’s what this song and video mean to me,” she adds. “Eventually the walls can come down and everything will be ok.”

Hailee Steinfeld has a lot in common with us; not only is she currently self-isolating, too, but - much like us - she is a huge Mixer. The 'I Love You's' singer once said she'd love to be the fifth member of Little Mix, so - as she FaceTimed Capital's Jimmy Hill - she auditioned to be a part of the band. The Bumblebee actress joked "How incredible would that be for me?" when Jimmy suggested she could become another bandmate in Little Mix. "Listen, I think that I've got a great work ethic," said Hailee, as she pitched herself to Little Mix. "I'm so sorry; I'm a little nervous right now - I just love Little Mix. I just think I could be a great addition. I'm cool with standing in the back, and letting them take the forefront and really just observing. "Whatever kind of slot they've got, I'll take it." Hailee Steinfeld performed alongside the 'Hair' hitmakers, at Capital's Summertime Ball in 2017, when Hailee made a surprise appearance; joining Zedd on stage to sing their hit 'Starving'.

Hailee Steinfeld and Taylor Swift may be friends, just not best friends. Speaking with Seventeen for a new cover story, Seinfeld talked about her membership to Swift's squad, saying, "I think people think we spend a lot more time together than we actually do!" The Pitch Perfect 2 star added, "She's amazing, though." Meghan Trainor Performs With James Corden, Hailee Steinfeld Covers Justin Bieber at L.A. Concert Steinfeld also talked about her struggles with bullying while in high school and how it helped prepare her for her role in The Edge of Seventeen as an awkward teenager living in her older brother's shadow. She also discussed her rising music career, saying, "I want to make the best first album I can possibly make. And I want to get to a level where I can headline my own arena tour. I know that I can make it happen. It's just the beginning. I see the future being really big."
