The Miami-Dade Police Department says the search for a missing teenage girl is over. Detective Alvaro Zabaleta says Carolina Macias, 17, was found safe Friday hiding at a friend's house. Police say the girl disappeared Thursday at Scarlett's Dance Studio by The Falls mall. They say she had an argument with her mother and left her cellphone, along with the rest of her belongings, inside the studio. Macias had last been seen inside a Publix supermarket with another person after being reported missing. She left after renting a movie from a Redbox machine. Police never believed she was endangered. The effort to find Macias escalated on social media with South Floridians, including U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., re-posting the flyer about Macias' disappearance.

A missing 17-year-old Washington state girl who left a chilling note that she could be dead was found alive two weeks later at a nearby mall, authorities said. Angelic (Anji) Dean — who disappeared from her Camas home on June 23 — was found Wednesday just across the state line at Clackamas Town Center outside Portland, Oregon, KGW-TV reported. Investigators said the teen was the victim of human trafficking, but did not immediately disclose any details about her disappearance. Dean was last seen in the living room of her family’s home before she mysteriously disappeared. Her mother found the teen’s journal, which included a terrifying message to the reader. “If you’re reading this, I’m either missing or dead,” the entry read. Dean also left behind her eyeglasses, identification and her cell phone — on which another fearful message was found. A Camas teen missing for more than two weeks has been found safe, a family spokeswoman told KGW Wednesday. Angelic 'Anji' Dean was last seen on June 23rd. She was found around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9 at the Clackamas Town Center. "It is clear that the local and national news coverage as well as the wide spread sharing of this family's story via social media such as Facebook and Twitter was integral in leading us to her safe return," said Sgt. Kevin Allais of the Clark County sheriff's office. All those extra efforts helped. Detective Scott Krigis told KGW that the Clark County Sheriff's Office received more than 100 new tips, including some that they tracked on Wednesday. Anji vanished without her prescription glasses, wallet or extra clothing. A neighbor reported seeing her get out of an older, blue Volvo that was filled with people on the day she went missing. The car pulled up to Anji's home, near 192nd Avenue in Camas, and the driver was a black man, about 25 to 35 years old, with a goatee. Police have not yet said whether that group of people or the driver had anything to do with Anji's disappearance.

A young woman is missing in Dorset after posting on Facebook that her date had not shown up where they agreed to meet. The post was made at around 9:30 p.m., Thursday night, and she was believed to be at the Jolly Sailor pub on Poole Quay. It's going on three days since Sarah Brown has been seen or heard from any of her loved ones, and now police are looking for her with possible fear that she's in danger. Police have urged a man known as "Steve" to come forward after a 23-year-old girl went missing from Poole, after having a drink with another man when her date failed to arrive. Sarah Brown said she was with a man called Steve in a Facebook post on Thursday after her scheduled date did not turn up. Dorset Police force incident commander Ben Hargreaves said Sarah Brown's family and friends were becoming "increasingly concerned". “Sarah’s family, friends and work colleagues are becoming increasingly worried because her disappearance is completely out of character. Concern is also increasing as it is possible that Sarah may be upset due to the approaching anniversary of a family tragedy. I ask anyone who knows the whereabouts of Sarah, or Sarah herself, to make contact with someone as soon as possible – we just need to know that she is safe and well. I urge the man she met called ‘Steve’ to come forward – you may have information that can assist in locating Sarah. Police appealed for information on Miss Brown's whereabouts yesterday, after she failed to attend work on Friday and Saturday. Today, Dorset Police announced that Miss Brown had been found "safe and well". A force spokesman added: "Dorset Police would like to thank the public and the media for their help."
