The mother of a Stockton woman who disappeared more than two decades ago says an update in the case could be right around the corner. According to the Stockton Record, Kristin Smart's mother, Denise, says she was contacted by the FBI and they told her to "Be ready. This is really going to be something you don't expect." Kristin Smart was a 19-year-old freshman at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo when she disappeared in 1996. She was last seen leaving a party off-campus. According to the Record, the FBI told Smart's mother her family "might want to get away for a while" and get a family spokesperson.

The husband of Lori Vallow, an Idaho mother facing charges amid her children's monthslong disappearance, spoke out for the first time in the case, thanking his supporters but refusing to say if the kids are ok. Kauai Police Department Lori Vallow, also known as Lori Daybell, the mother of two Idaho children missing since September, was arrested Feb. 20, 2020, in Hawaii, Kauai police said. Chad Daybell, Vallow's fifth husband, told ABC News' National Correspondent Marcus Moore that he couldn't comment on the whereabouts or well-being of 7-year-old Joshua "JJ" Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan, who were last seen in September 2019. He is not the biological father of either child. "Are the kids ok?" Moore asked Daybell at a gas station in Kauai, Hawaii, where he and Vallow had been living for about a month, on Monday. "I just can't comment," he replied. "I just can't comment."

The Guilford County Sheriff's Office is looking for 15-year-old Makayla Marr, who goes by "Kayla," according to a press release. She was last known to be in the Stokesdale area on March 1. Marr is a white female with brown hair, hazel eyes and is 5 feet 6 inches tall, the release said. Officials say she has an undercut hairstyle: Her hair is shaved from the back of her neck to around the top of her head, and the long part of hair is usually worn in a bun showing the cut. Anyone who knows of Marr's whereabouts is asked to contact 911 or the Guilford County Sheriff's office at 336-641-3355.

Rescuers scouring the rural plains of Alabama on Friday found a missing 4-year-old girl, nearly 48 hours after she initially vanished, authorities said. "We are just, ecstatic might be a good word. She is in good shape, she is responsive, she is talking, she’s alert. She is in good physical condition, and the best part is she is with her mama."

A 14-year-old missing girl was last seen in Stevenson Ranch, according to her family. Original Post: Madison Gallo reportedly ran away from her home in Stevenson Ranch at about 1 a.m. on Monday, according to her mother, Tiffany Gallo. “This is the first time she has ever done anything like this,” her mother said. The missing girl, Madison, is about 5’7” and 165 pounds, with her hair recently dyed to a dark brown/black, according to her mother. Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have been notified, and a police report has been filed, according to the family. There is minimal video footage of Madison as she was seen leaving Monday morning, and it is unknown what color clothing she is wearing, her mother said. Madison might be in the Clarita Valley or Antelope Valley area, according to family members. Her mother wanted to send a message to Madison, saying “We love her and we want her home safe.” If Madison is seen, residents are encouraged to call the Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121.
