From Calgary to Winnipeg, across the Canadian prairies, over 20 billboards have been erected to shed light on long-term missing persons investigations.
The billboard campaign being run by the Prince Albert Police Service feature the names and faces of nine different missing people in the hope that anyone in the public with any information will come forward, whether the person has been missing for a few years, or a few decades.
“The families are suffering, it’s a lot of pain that these families are going through,” Prince Albert Police Service Sgt. Kathy Edwardsen said. “They’re victims, they’re children, they’re parents. The people that are missing, it leaves a huge hole in their heart. It’s really difficult for them, it’s hard to have closure until you have some answers.”
Before commencing with the program, Edwardsen reached out to the families of the missing, all of whom gave the project their blessing.
“They’re all so happy to have this done, the families don’t want their missing loved ones to be forgotten,” Edwardsen said. “It’s also good for the families to put it out there, and just let people know that we haven’t forgotten about you, we’re still looking for answers and we’re hoping to get something from that.”
She added that even the smallest bit of information could make the biggest difference in helping the investigation, while also giving the families some closure.
Anyone with any information on any of the cases has been asked to contact the Prince Albert Police Service or Crimestoppers.

MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Miami Police have found a missing 13-year-old girl who had reportedly threatened to kill herself.
Police say she was not harmed after disappearing from her family’s apartment around 2:00 a.m. Monday and was found at Jackson North Medical Center after taking an Uber ride share car to get there.
They also say the story raises larger concerns about what parents can do to head off such situations before they occur. They also moved swiftly in this case after the child’s mother said her daughter threatened to take her own life.
Miami Police had put out a flyer about Chloe Maarouf. They considered the 5’4”, 110-pound girl an endangered female.
Police spokeswoman Kiara Delva told CBS4’s Peter D’Oench, “The mother did report that her daughter had threatened to kill herself, so we considered her an endangered female and that’s why we want anyone who recognized her to call 911. Detectives are worried about her safety and Chloe if you are watching, call the police. We have resources to deal with what is going on. We are here to help, and we don’t want her doing anything that would devastate her family. Detectives will work around the clock.”
Delva said surveillance tape captured Maarouf in a stairwell at the apartment building at 117 S.W. 10th St.
Shortly after midday, a family member told D’Oench that Maarouf had been found and Delva said she was located at Jackson North Medical Center at N.W. 1st Avenue and 170th Street in North Miami Beach.
Delva said police detectives scoured the area where the girl disappeared and checked local hospitals.

An AMBER Alert for a Tennessee teen who went missing in 2019 has been canceled after she was found safe in Alabama. Daphne Westbrook, 18, has been found safe in Samson, Ala., the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced Friday. No additional details of the circumstances of her recovery have been released. "We are thankful Daphne is safe and no longer being held by her father. It is especially gratifying to be able to tell her mom that Daphne is free and no longer being hidden," the Hamilton County District Attorney's Office said in a statement on Facebook. "This doesn't change our goal to find and prosecute John Westbrook. Our investigation remains active and we expect new developments within the next couple of weeks." Daphne was 17 years old when she was last seen in Chattanooga in October 2019, while on a weekend visit to the home of her non-custodial father, John Westbrook, according to the TBI. John remains at large and is wanted on aggravated kidnapping and custodial interference charges. In the last contact with her daughter, mother Rhonda Curtsinger says Daphne messaged her asking permission to delay her return home by a couple of hours so she could take a walk with a dog and a friend. But Daphne never showed up. Eight months later, authorities in Hamilton County secured a warrant that charged John with custodial interference, and last October, Daphne was added to TBI's online missing children registry. According to Fox 13, in March, Daphne was able to send a message to a friend saying she was considering self-harm. In response, her mother spoke with the station in hopes of her daughter hearing her message. "Please know that nobody is angry. You are so loved," Curtsinger said. "It is not your fault you are in that situation. This is not her fault. I need her to be OK. I need that. I will do everything that I can to make sure that she is." John stands 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information, or who spots John, is asked to call 423-209-7415 or 1-800-TBI-FIND.
