The This Is Us star is pregnant, she confirmed on Instagram. The little one will mark the first child for her and husband Taylor Goldsmith, who she wed in 2018 after two years of dating and more than a year of engagement.
The actress shared the news with fans on social media on Thursday, Sept. 24. "Baby Boy Goldsmith coming early 2021," she wrote alongside photos of Goldsmith cradling her growing baby bump.
The performer, who recently released her seventh studio album, Silver Landings—her first in more than a decade—has spent much of her teenage and adult life in the spotlight, including the last few years as matriarch Rebecca Pearson on the hit NBC series. Now, she's set to fulfill a personal wish of becoming a mom herself.
"I feel a kinship with her," Moore told E! News of her character back in 2017. "I was most concerned about was feeling maternal, not having children myself. But being part of a project like this definitely makes my ovaries start kicking."

This Is Us star Mandy Moore (Rebecca Pearson) says the season 5 premiere is “spectacular” and “super ambitious.” But that isn’t the only reason why you should be excited about the two-hour event. In October, the Pearson family will return to NBC with the Big Three’s 40th birthday celebration. And as always, fans are expecting a big twist by the end of the first episode. Then in a recent interview, Moore teased the new storyline to watch out for in the This Is Us Season 5 premiere. And apparently, it’s something completely unexpected. Back in July, Moore promised the upcoming This Is Us premiere would be worth the wait. “I know it’s super ambitious, like our show always is,” Moore told TV Insider of the first two episodes. “I am biased. But I feel like it keeps getting better and better. I marvel at how extraordinary our writers are, and how innovative and inventive they are. I am excited.” Now, the actor has a few more teasers. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly published on Oct. 21, Moore hinted at a new story in the This Is Us Season 5 premiere that will leave viewers stunned. “It’s a part of this family’s story that I had just never thought about before,” Moore said. “Because you maybe feel like, ‘Oh, what’s the story? There is no story there.’ But there’s a story there.” At this point, Moore’s remarks about the This Is Us Season 5 premiere could be about anything. There are plenty of Pearson family storylines that have yet to be explored. But in a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly, creator Dan Fogelman confirmed the two-hour premiere will feature a timeline we haven’t really seen before. Of course, we already know the season premiere will cover Kate (Chrissy Metz), Kevin (Justin Hartley), and Randall’s (Sterling K. Brown) 40th birthday. But Fogelman confirmed the new episode will also highlight the Big Three’s first. Meanwhile, the creator teased the This Is Us premiere, noting the first episode “feels really big.” “We’re always conscious to come out of the gates swinging a little bit and remind people, ‘Oh yeah, this show’s still on and we’re still here,’” Fogelman said. “I’m very proud of what we’re trying to undertake.”

Mandy Moore revealed Wednesday that she is making some changes to her birth plan "after learning that her platelet count has dropped "exponentially." Sharing a photo from her weekly hematologist appointment on her Instagram Story, the This Is Us star said that the change in her platelets — cells that help blood clot — "altered" her initial birth plan. "Weekly platelet check at the hematologist," Moore, 36, wrote atop a photo of herself wearing a floral dress and a grey face mask, cradling her belly. "My platelets have dropped exponentially during pregnancy and it's sadly altered my birth 'plan.' Any other pregnant folks in the same boat??" While a drop in platelet count during pregnancy is normal, if they drop below the normal range, it's known as a condition called gestational thrombocytopenia. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the condition is common and occurs in between seven and 10 percent of pregnancies at delivery. http://instagram.com/p/CIloO1ZgknN

On Tuesday, Feb. 23, This Is Us star Mandy Moore announced she and husband Taylor Goldsmith officially welcomed their first child together. The "Ready as I'll Ever Be" singer took to Instagram to share the exciting news. "Gus is here," the actress confirmed, revealing the little one's nickname. "Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined." The new parents tied the knot in November 2018. In an interview with Glamour that year, she gushed, "He makes me melt. I can imagine no better partner. He's going to be the most tremendous father. I view the past as a stepping-stone to get me where I am today. I would gladly weather all of that a million times over if it brought me to Taylor again." Back in August 2020, the actress wrote a touching tribute on Instagram to Taylor for his birthday. "I'm not sure what I did in a past life to deserve you but it must have been something big. You are undeniable," she wrote. "You are undeniable. Your inherent light, humility, grace, humor, and compassion are contagious and I feel lucky to get the chance to bask in your goodness with outstretched arms." http://instagram.com/p/CLpScDIAsRr She continued, "Thank you for trusting me with your heart. Thank you for being the best travel companion, crossword puzzler, songwriting partner, pet parent, and my favorite person. 2020 has certainly been a wild ride but I really can't wait for what this next year will bring. Happy Birthday, T. I love you more than anything." The mom-to-be announced her pregnancy the following month on Instagram with a series of black and white photos, Taylor's hand on her baby bump. Mandy captioned the pictures, "Baby Boy Goldsmith coming early 2021" along with a blue heart emoji.
