The Masked Singer Kitty has probably been the most difficult celebrity to figure out in all three seasons of the show. With cryptic clues and a voice you recognize but can’t place, she has been duping the judges and audience alike.
So who is the Kitty? And are America’s Got Talent fans right about it being Jackie Evancho?
In the first clues package, the Kitty is seen on stage, with spectators in black and white cheering her on and watching through opera glasses. She says she “feels at home among the weird and wonderful.” The show is “a little bit of heaven,” where Kitty can “wipe the slate clean as the purest snow.” A wizard is shown and a telescope pointing to the moon. People think of her as the person she once was, not the person she’s become. We see a moon puffing out smoke. Now, she gets to start from scratch. Pirates are fighting in the background. She’s going for “high drama,” while we see a rose shatter and rose petals all around her.
The second set of clues brought even more hints. Kitty says she’s been “waiting for this moment forever.” Sewing is one of her favorite things to do, whether a pillow for someone special or a “modern dress for a family member’s ball.” She mentions she “draws on all that inspires her” while she is seen drawing. “Maybe there’s something about watching transformations rings a bell” to the Kitty. One of the men in black is seen wearing a red, hooded cape. She can feel herself growing into something “brand new.” Her favorite subject in school was English. She’s “such a bookworm” and says she used to write sci-fi books at school that she would sell for quarters.
More Clues On The Masked Singer Season 3 Kitty had her “BFF” dish out some gossip about her for the third set of clues. She is seen as a Rapunzel-like character with long green hair. Her BFF says she “didn’t have a ton of friends” and “got bullied at school for being weird” growing up. The clues show a decorative egg, adorned in diamonds and two candelabras. She mentions that Kitty has “always had a flair for the dramatic,” whether she’s writing poems or directing horror movies they would star in. We see Christmas lights hanging up. Her BFF mentions that she once said she could see ghosts and got detention. Kitty then gives a friendship bracelet to Robin. It says “FIREWORKS” on it. Kitty says she gave it to him because “the first time we met was lit!”
In the Super 9, the clues were scarce. But Kitty did share a “super clue,” which was the Tree from The Masked Singer season 2! She says she’s “not going to make this complicated, Christmas is truly the best time of year. Ring any jingle bells?” After her performance, she also explained “I was not dreaming when Robert Redford helped me to get my very first role.”

The Kitty won’t be competing on “The Masked Singer” again until quarterfinal 2 on April 22. But the special sing-along episode on April 15 gives us a chance to revisit one of her stand-out performances from earlier in season 3. The Kitty made it this far based on her stunning cover of the Celine Dion power ballad “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” on the April 1 show. The Kitty was purr-fection, earning a standing ovation from the studio audience and four judges (Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke). This was the latest of her powerhouse performances following versions of “Dangerous Woman” by Ariana Grande, “Mercy” by Brett Young, and “Mama’s Broken Heart” by Miranda Lambert. We are sure that who is hiding inside the Kitty costume. Keep reading as we’ve got all “The Masked Singer” spoilers, including the real name of the Kitty. We are convinced that the Kitty is Jackie Evancho, the singer who placed second on “America’s Got Talent” in 2010 when she was all of 10 years old. The Kitty readily admits she started her career when she was very young. The Kitty claims a connection to screen legend Robert Redford. Jackie made her movie debut in “The Company You Keep,” opposite this Oscar winner who also directed the 2011 spy drama. The Kitty told Robin that “the first time we met, it was lit.” Jackie and Robin both performed on the 2010 Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony on NBC. The Kitty says “Christmas is truly the most wonderful time of the year.” Jackie had chart toppers with both her Yuletide albums. “O Holy Night” and “Heavenly Christmas.” Both discs went gold; as a group the season 3 contestants on “The Masked Singer” have 88 gold records. We will only know if we are right that the Kitty is Jackie Evancho when she is unmasked. That only happens when she loses a vote or wins the show. Singer Jackie Evancho knows people still think of her as the young child who was an “America’s Got Talent” finalist a decade ago. But now she’s all grown up, which is why Evancho wanted to try her hand at “The Masked Singer.” Evancho was the latest star to be unmasked on the hit Fox reality competition series, having been disguised as the Kitty. (Scroll down to watch her unmasking.) “Everybody knows me as a 10-year-old little girl who resembles an angel and sings like a 50 year old,” she told Variety. “That’s always going to be a part of me but I’m 20 years old now and I have so much else inside of me that I wanted the world to know, and this whole other range of talents and voices that I could be using. So I saw this as a great opportunity to sort of reinvent myself under this big mask of anonymity. For her final performance, Evancho performed “Back to Black” by Amy Winehouse on Wednesday night’s episode. Her other songs in past episodes included “Dangerous Woman” and “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.” “I really hope to take away everything that Kitty is,” she said. “And I want to incorporate her into me as a person. Now that I don’t have that mask on anymore, I have to teach myself to not be afraid when everyone’s eyes are on me. I really just want to be, to be able to act my age, without being criticized. I want to be a serious artist and know that there are no limits to what I can do, and the show really helped me to get a grasp on that.” Evancho said the Kitty costume was easier than others, but still presented challenges. “It was still very difficult to adjust to breathing in this heavy mask and moving around and you can barely see, so it was nerve wracking but the more episodes I did the better I got at it,” she said. As for the panel guesses, no one got it right. Nicole Scherzinger thought it was Vanessa Hudgens, guest panelist Jeff Dye picked Mary Kate or Ashley Olsen, Robin Thicke thought it was Ashley Tisdale, Ken Jeong named Anna Kendrick and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg picked Lea Michele. “I knew they were not going to be able to guess me because they know Jackie Evancho as 10 years old, not 20, and definitely not as a sexy ,” she said. “Hearing all their guesses was really cool because there were all these really strong super talented women. Especially Vanessa Hudgens was my absolute favorite because she’s so talented and full of integrity. That’s everything that I want to be as a singer and artist.”

On Wednesday’s top five The Masked Singer semifinals, the Kitty confessed that the people in her life didn’t want her to grow up. But ironically, she did just that by playing dress-up. When she made it through her ninth life this week and was unmasked at the end of the night, the Kitty turned out to be former opera-singing child prodigy Jackie Evancho. “I wanted to show a different side of myself. I have been stuck in the stereotype of a 10-year-old girl,” she explained. “Now I'm almost 20, and I'm glad that this experience has given me the chance to kind of break out of that.” http://instagram.com/p/B_4AhxVHlKv Everyone was shocked by Jackie’s purrfect metamorphosis — even host Nick Cannon, who first met Jackie a decade ago when she placed second on another talent show he used to emcee, America’s Got Talent. Jackie had certainly transformed since then, and not just because she was dressed like Taylor Swift in Cats. ] “I want to thank you guys, because without you, I don’t think I would have discovered where I want to take my career and how I want to represent myself as in the future,” Jackie told the Masked Singer judges. Honestly, I don’t think getting gussied up as heterochromatic-eyed, bipedal feline in a wild-west saloon-showgirl dress should be the next or permanent phase of Jackie’s career, but throughout this Masked Singer season she showed off her seductive and sultry side (this week’s vampy “Back to Black” performance was the cat’s meow), so I do think she might have a 10th professional life coming up. http://instagram.com/p/B_5VrOTH7ix So now there are only four more masquerade ballers left, and any of them have a shot at snagging Season 3’s Golden Mask trophy in just two weeks’ time, on what just might be the most competitive finale in Masked Singer history. May the best mask win! Flanked by a troop of creepy dancing Grinches, this green machine certainly wasn’t standing on the wall like he was Poindexter. As judge Jenny McCarthy put it, he brought his “A-game” and “did not disappoint.” This hippity-hopper knows how to entertain, and at this rate, he could bust a move all the way to the winner’s circle.

The Masked Singer quarterfinals kicked off Wednesday as the final five faced off, and one costumed contestant had to hang up their mask. After a musical dust-up between The Turtle, The Rhino, The Frog, The Night Angel and The Kitty, it all came down to the audience vote on who would be going home. Shockingly, despite a sultry performance of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black," the singer with the least votes, and therefore the one to get the ax, was The Kitty! The panel of celebrity "detectives" -- including Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger and guest panelist Jeff Dye -- got one final chance to guess whom they thought was under the mask. Each panelist guessed different people, including Ashley Tisdale, one of the Olsen sisters and Vanessa Hudgens, and it turned out that every guess was wrong. The Kitty removed her mask and revealed herself to be none other than classical crossover crooner Jackie Evancho! The 20-year-old singer spoke with ET on Wednesday, and she opened up about why she chose to be The Kitty and how it helped her rediscover and redefine herself. "When I saw Kitty, I was like, 'This has to be me!' Because it was the complete opposite of what people know me as," shared Evancho, who gained widespread fame at age 10 when she became the runner-up on season 5 of America's Got Talent, and the same year became the youngest solo artist to go platinum with the release of her first EP, O Holy Night. "The Kitty was always inside of me, I've always had that character in me, I just never got to show it to anybody," Evancho explained. "So, when I saw the costume, and I saw how sexy and sultry and diva-ish she was, I thought, 'This is the perfect way to throw people off from guessing who I am.'" Judging from the panelists' guesses, she achieved her goal of throwing people off -- although she was one of the main guesses among Twitter sleuths. For Evancho, getting to be The Kitty -- with her Wild West-meets-burlesque–inspired wardrobe design and lounge singer flair -- was "exactly what I needed." "There's a lot of stereotypical things that come with my name, and shedding that, and to be completely anonymous, and have a clean slate, and restart my career pretty much, was something I really craved and wanted all along," she explained. "It's always such a challenge to start when you're a kid because, for the rest of your life, people are going to kind of know you as that, and you need to figure out a way to shed that, and this show definitely gave me that chance." "So I hope people will see me as a sexy 20-year-old now instead of an angelic 10-year-old," Evancho added with a laugh.
