Taylor Swift was forced to cancel all of her planned live shows in 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but that doesn't mean she won't bring her concert to fans. On May 8, the now-pop megastar announced via Good Morning America that a brand-new concert special is coming to ABC. Taylor Swift City of Lover Concert will air May 17 at 10PM ET. Filmed in Paris in September in front of a small group of fans, the television airing will showcase song from Swift's 2019 Lover album, which she'd planned to host a series of her own festivals around this summer. "I'm so sad I won't be able to see you guys in concert this year, but I know this is the right decision," Swift said when canceling her Lover Festival(s) last month. "Please, please stay healthy and safe. I’ll see you on stage as soon as I can, but right now what’s important is committing to this quarantine, for the sake of all of us." http://instagram.com/p/B_7RRgxH2rH Swift's ABC special will hit Hulu and Disney+ after it airs on the network. "It was so much fun," she says in a video shared on Good Morning America's social media accounts, noting that it was a small show at the L'Olympia Theater in Paris, put together "just to celebrate the Lover album coming out, and we filmed it." http://instagram.com/p/B_7Xso1nHgY

One month after postponing her highly anticipated Lover Fest tour due to the coronavirus pandemic, Swift surprised fans by announcing a concert special airing May 17 at 10 p.m. on ABC (and available on Hulu and Disney+ the following day). The concert was filmed last September at L'Olympia Theater in Paris while Swift was promoting her latest studio album Lover. At the time, an intimate group of fans from 37 countries flew into Paris for the concert, where the singer performed her biggest hits. The "You Need to Calm Down" singer has been surprising fans over the last several weeks, sending $3000 each to Swifties struggling financially. Swift also recently surprised Whitney Hilton, a registered nurse who's been working on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic, with a handwritten note and package for her 30th birthday.

Recorded back in September of last year, the show took place in Paris at the L'Olympia Theater where Swift performed 16 songs from various albums, including live performance debuts of Lover tracks like "Death by a Thousand Cuts", "Cornelia Street", and "The Man" as well as radio hits like "I Knew You Were Trouble", "Love Story", and "Shake It Off". While there's no word on whether the televised performance will include every song, the show is sure to bring some relief to Swifties upset by Taylor's upcoming Lover Fest dates being rescheduled from this summer to 2021.

If you thought Taylor Swift's prime-time "City of Lover Concert" special on Sunday night (May 17) was awesome, there's even better news. After the one-hour live show aired on ABC, Swift released a series of live versions from her 2019 Lover album that were recorded during the September 2019 gig at the Olympia Music Hall in Paris. After releasing a live take on "The Man" in February, seven other songs from the show are now available on Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube: the title track, "ME!," "You Need to Calm Down," "Cornelia Street," "Death by a Thousand Cuts," "The Archer" and "Daylight."
