The track's intro and guitar riffs are easily some of the most prominent highlights, but they miraculously never overshadow the rest of the group's standout performances, including some powerhouse soprano vocals from Asami and some fiery drumming from Haruna.
'Signs of Deliverance' is a gorgeous display of power metal mastery from the hands and minds of a quintet ready to take the world by storm, and this energy is reflected in every single track on 'Electric Pentagram'.
For Lovebites, this album represents their roots in metal as well as their assurance to their fans that metal is what they intend to keep doing.
To that end, the band's album features cover art of a pentagram and a wolf, with the pentagram representing the members and metal and the wolf being a representation of the group's status as the "lone wolf" in an industry producing music that is far more mainstream.
But remarkably, and on some level ironically, the band's choice to remain true to its roots is precisely what is launching them into commercial, mainstream success, with 'Electric Pentagram' now seeing a Western release and Lovebites gaining a worldwide fanbase.
"We are very excited that our new album 'Electric Pentagram' will be released in the US and Canada," the band states, adding "This new album has made our bonds as a band stronger than ever. "
"Lovebites is an electric pentagram. A pentagram is a five-pointed star consisting of five lines. It's been an emblem that's adorned amulets and talismans since ancient times as a symbol of protection. That’s why we felt Electric Pentagram is the perfect title for this album. We are five points brought together to protect heavy metal."

Armed to the teeth with fiery riffs and operatic vocals since nibbling onto the scene in 2017 with their debut disc Awakening From Abyss, the insanely talented all-female Japanese quintet known as LOVEBITES have made a name for themselves in the power metal scene with their hybrid of flashy aggressiveness and neo-classical melody. Taking their name from a chance rehearsal of HALESTORM’s “Love Bites (So Do I)” and realizing that their frontperson Asami had the perfect voice suited for the material they would write and record, LOVEBITES have gone from Tokyo road and beyond, first with their 2018 Wacken Open Air Festival performance after winning the "Best New Band" award at Metal Hammer's Golden Gods Awards and later landing co-headlining tour slots with ARCH ENEMY, DRAGONFORCE, and eventually HALESTORM among others. And while the band has cut their proverbial incisors on their key musical influences such as IRON MAIDEN and RAGE on their first two albums, it’s their third offering Electric Pentagram where LOVEBITES have wolfed down the influential Scandinavian sounds of NIGHTWISH, STRATOVARIUS and CHILDREN OF BODOM with the help of their longtime production/mixing help of Mikko Karmila and Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland – and the results are howlingly awesome. Like their predecessor albums, Electric Pentagram – titled to represent the band members individually as five points brought together to protect heavy metal – boasts everything louder and faster than everything else, with tracks such as the opening Painkiller-era PRIEST-sounding monster “Thunder Vengeance”, the fast street fighting “Holy War”, the outright thrashy “Set The World On Fire”, the anthemic “Raise Some Hell” and the album’s breakthrough singles such as the heavily HELLOWEEN-inspired-sounding and NWOBHM-championing “Golden Destinations” and “Signs Of Deliverance”, delivering the powerful riff magic of guitarists Midori and Miyako and the rapid-fire rhythmic tempos of bassist Miho and drummer Haruna to round out Asami’s incendiary vocals. But elsewhere on the album, LOVEBITES also keep the beat to a mid-paced digestible level on songs such as “A Frozen Serenade”, featuring some acoustic dulcet tones by Miyako and the bouncy-sounding “Dancing With The Devil”, Asami’s powerful pipes on the latter track closing out the song, giving it a bit of an R&B-sounding flourish. The closing number “Swan Song”, inspired by fusing the elements of the classical works of Frédéric Chopin's "Revolutionary Étude" and Antonín Dvoøák's "New World Symphony", is the consummate neo-classical opus that also takes its inspiration from the popular ballet Swan Lake, with the closing piano fade-out reflecting the swan in the composition dying at the end, according to the song’s musical arranger Miyako. And with the album’s songs weighing in between 5 to 7 minutes long, Electric Pentagram runs a considerably-sized musical gamut that needs more than a quick listen to absorb. With the combined heavy metal spirit and attitude of Kerrang!’s Pandora Peroxide and the stylin’ high-heeled determination of The Office’s Pam Beesly, LOVEBITES’ 3-year hunt towards recognition amongst its peers is both jaw-droppingly quick and a marvel to behold as the quintet progress from the proverbial underdogs of the music industry to the true lone wolves they’ve always been meant to be on Electric Pentagram. 5.0 Out Of 5.0 lovebites.jp/www.facebook.com/LovebitesTheBand/

In a truly old school move, female power metal band LOVEBITES have just released a physical-only EP. Titled Golden Destination it features two unreleased songs (Spellbound and Puppet On Strings) along with an orchestral version of Thunder Vengeance, the explosive track which opened their recent Electric Pentagram album.
Paying homage to bassists Miho’s love of Iron Maiden’s Golden Destination fairly races out of the blocks with triple gallop phrases and a twin guitar attack. Accompanied by a behind the scenes video that documents their recent jaunt around the UK with DragonForce it offers a glimpse at the band’s off-stage personalities. In stark contrast to their previous slick videos, Golden Destination finds LOVEBITES sightseeing, eating at fast food outlets and, in opposition to their glamorous on-stage personas, sound checking in slippers and dressing gowns. It’s a video that shows LOVEBITES’ special relationship with the UK and a fascinating insight into the workings of a touring band that’s sure to win the group many new converts.
The two previously unreleased tracks are typical LOVEBITES fare and show a great musical virtuosity but it’s the new version of Thunder Vengeance that’s the real revelation. Like the best heavy metal LOVEBITES’ have always included classical flourishes in their music but this reworking really goes to town and attests to guitarist Miyako’s musical training and this new version would have made an equally grandiose opener to Electric Pentagram.

The power metal band LOVEBITES is set to release their third album, ELECTRIC PENTAGRAM, on January 29, 2020. And it aims to continue their tradition of heavy riffs with rich English lyrics and twin lead guitars. While the songs on the album have yet to debut, we can expect a deeper exploration into their brand of metal and stylistic approach to songwriting. The band works together on some of their songs and others are written by each member for a unique expression. Fans in Europe can check them out now as they tour with DragonForce. Also, it is well known that the band chose their name from the song Love Bites (So Do I) by the American rock ensemble, Halestorm. No doubt they will be excited to open for them on December 2 at their sold-out Tokyo show.
